I have a Phantom Fury for a while and it's been a pain in the neck ever since it was purchased.

Is a Dyson worth the money? What kind of vacuum cleaner do you like? What's good for pet hair?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I bought a Dyson last month and love it....It really leaves the carpet looking fresh, almost an after shampooing look.....I cant believe the stuff that I got up with the Dyson. I am somewhat of a vac fanatic...and vacumned the house several times a week if not everyday....so I didnt think there would be much in the carpet....I was wrong....My carpet is only one year old so its not like there was years of old dirt....I also like the long hose....really makes doing the stairs a breeze.

I have an Oreck. Cost $300, weighs about 8 lbs., I can schlep it all over the house, sucks up the stuff well. I've had it about 5 years, no complaints.

Dyson, dyson, dyson. My friends have a Rainbow that they love, but there's no way I'm spending $2000 on a vacuum!

With 3 VERY HAIRY persians......a dyson is looking good! My hubby tells me I have lost my mind...but...HE doesn't have to vacuum!!!!!!

I found the dyson very heavy and hard to push on carpet, but I have a bad back and had to try them all before deciding on my bagless bissel from Kohl's it is great and sucks up tons of stuff!!

we got an ad to subscribe to consumer reports, and in the as it talked about a great vacuum cleaner. I checked it out on amazon.com and it had great reviews, so we got one last week.

So far its great!! Its a Eureka 4870. They had a discount code, so I paid $119 shipped for it. Thats much less than I have been paying for the junk vacuums I have been using!

I think that's the one I have. It works well although it would have been nice if the hose was a little longer.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Dyson...

Christine

I lve my dyson!!!

Now there is a new one that pivets on a ball. I wish that was around 3 yrs ago!

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I love my Dyson.

I also clean for a living and have tried just about every vacuum out there none compare to the dyson. I really don't like any of the super light vacuums.

Just want to echo the Dyson Lovers mantra. We got ours from Costco right before we moved into our new house. Amazing how much it picked up before we even moved the the furniture in!! It's almost disgusting when you see how much it sucks up just in one room...but not as disgusting as all that dirt still in the carpet.

Yes, it is heavy...but you can call it a workout.

When I first read your post, I thought you had written "With 3 VERY HAIRY...PERSONS"!!!! :rotfl2: :paw: I *know* you wrote "persians", but my brain saw something else.

Back to the Dyson fans...do these vacuums work well on wooden floors *and* on carpets?

I'm still sitting here chuckling...PERSONS!
agnes!

Agnes! Yes, they work equally well on hard floors as they do on carpet. Simply switch the dial from carpet to floor and it turns off the brush. I sucked up enough dog hair yesterday to knit another dog!

The Dyson doesn't suck.

I hope that is a play on words...because on a weekly basis I use many many types of vacuums at my clients houses and the Dyson is the only one that does suck....If the people with Orecks used a Dyson after they finished vacuuming they would be amazed....I did the test at one of my clients who owned a Oreck...we had to vacuum the room twice to get all the dirt and dog hair up...nothing you could see with the eye..it just ended up in the vacuum....
