Cast for Mother's Day: DW (me), Grumpy (DH), DD, MIL, and new addition of Grumpy's best friend Mike.
The day started out late because Grumpy wasn't ready to go. We left All Star Sports and headed to AK. MIL and I got flowers on the way in and wore them proudly all day. Did Lion King first and it was fabulous. Grumpy was not impressed. Then we headed to the safari which good but to close to middle of the day to see all of the animals. DD became very attached to Mike. He had to hold her hand on all of the scary rides like Dinosaur. He got Grumpy in a much better mood by giving him a guy to run around with. He was a bit outnumbered. WE then headed over to Primevil Whirl. Which was DD favorite ride in AK. WE rode it about five times (no line). We ate lunch at the Rain Forest, the Ceasar Salad was big enough for three people!!! DD decided to build her potato head in AK. Another great DIS tip, we brought the potato with us!!!! Mike is an engineer, so we spent about 1/2 hour filling the box. People were gathering around to watch the specialist. Cashier told us it was one of the heaviest boxes ever! This made my DD very proud.
We left AK and went to check into OKW. We rented points from a member and when I got out of the car, I knew that this was the best mother's day ever!! This resort was perfect for us. It had the laid back feel that we needed after doing three parks and two hotels in two days. It was time to relax and that's what we did most of the afternoon. The person we rented points from recommended a certain building and we were able to get it. It was perfect. We were right across the street from the main pool and general store. I think that this resort could be bad for my finances because I have been trying to find a way to buy in ever since I've been home.
After dinner, we went to MGM for extra magic hours. We were able to ride TOT, which to my surprise was DD favorite ride in all of the parks!!! Rock n Roller coaster was good and Muppets was another great experience for DD. She started trading pins with cast members and they were all very nice. We decided to stay and do some shopping and sent Grumpy home on a bus. We bought a few things and had them sent to our room. Staying on site can't be beat for the convience. DD stayed with us until 11:30 when we called it a night. She had saved her own money for the trip and had it changed into Disney Dollars. She spent her first few disney dollars on me for a christmas ornament for Mother's Day. It was definately the best Mother's Day ever.
