Vacation Tips for Women! :)

I'm so excited! This will be my first vacation since my ablation surgery. I didn't have to plan around my period at all!

And, as far as chafing under the girls, I just bring different fitting bras and, go without once I get back to the room. I go in January though. If I was going in the summer, I'm sure I would try baby powder or something!

I still have 2 years to wdw but i cant wait!! These tips are the best just read through the whole thread!

any other girls out there with this particular problem - i am well endowed and sometimes in the heat i tend to get sweaty, shall we say, underneath my endowment area and then my bra rubs and irritates my skin. would babypowder help this? i think i might try it for this trip.

I have the same problem. What I do is use my deodorant underneath the "girls" as well as under my arms. That stops the sweat, which stops the majority of the irritation.

I use Monistat anti-chafing gel...Works like a charm

For things like nail polish remover, rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and eye makeup remover (which I use cotton balls for all) instead of bringing the bottle and the cotton balls, I soak them it and put them in a ziplock bag-label and I have just saved room for stuff to bring to Disney.

I'm surprised...I would have thought that the nail polish remover would eat through the plastic of the ziplock bag.

Live and learn. :teacher:

i find that my upper thighs start to get irratated if i wear a skirt.

I am not a large woman either and they tend to rub toegther after awhile, i would not wear a skirt to disney for long periods of time.

LMAO!! It's true!! [But hey, guys have things, that hang, that get irratated 2!]
My tip for that is pack an extra degree stick! get the "little black dress approved" powder stick. It glides & does not leave white powder on ur cloths. Plus it works better than baby powder b/c it lasts longer. I keep it in my bag. U can use any brand, get a mini stick from Target's travel section. An entire week or longer going non stop at Disney & I never get a rash down there, even in JUNE or AUG!!! I'm not a skinny girl I'm a curvy size 12 & yet.. no rash. = ) Still LMAO!

ok i just thought of a tip i could share (sorry if this has already been mentioned). if you are prone to getting blisters on your feet, buy some Thorlo socks. they are sport socks which are specifically made for running or walking, and they are SO comfy. i wore these when i did an 80km hike and i didn't get one blister!

Nice tip!! I'll look for those for sure!!! The blisters got me last time!! My boyfriend & I will be there for 12 days!!! I'm a morning til night, never miss a thing kinda girl!! So thanx for this idea!!! = )

12 days! The longest i have ever been is 6 and that counts the travel days! How i envy you.

i'm so glad i found this thread! i'm going to be on my . during my vacation next week (not fun!) so i'm trying to decide if i should pack tampons or pads for the theme parks. i'm thinking i might be more comfortable in tampons.

generally, when i'm on vacation i don't bother with makeup. i get sweaty and it just sort of melts of my face anyway. i like to use spf on my face that is different than normal sunblock - neutrogena has a nice one that's not greasy. also i have a small free sample of clinique spf that i plan to put in my purse for the theme parks.

i know some other people on this thread have mentioned skirts - i also love wearing them in the warm weather, but never would on vacation. it's just too akward. what if the only available seat for a parade is on the curb? i like bermuda shorts because they don't ride up in the crotch like short shorts lol.

also i wear sneakers with nice plush socks, i love flip flops but my feet would kill me with all of that walking!

From one well endowed girl to another, forget the baby powder, there is something much better: Monistat (yes the brand of the ******l yeast infection cream company) powder gel. It comes in a small tube (about three inches or so tall) dark blue and pink in color (the tube. The gel is clear). Comes out like toothpaste but turns to gel as you rub it on. Prevents chaffing and sweating. Lasts all day and if you wait to shower the next morning (I shower in the evening but DD showers in the a.m.) it will last all that night too!). Costs about $6.00 here and you find it by the feminine hygiene products at Wal-Mart. A little bit goes a long way.

I swear by it. Found it on this site and owe someone a whole lot of gratitude. Much easier to use than the deodorant I used to use under there. No more rashes or yeast infections.

OK, all you ladies have convinced me I need to check out some Lush products. :cutie:

I have sensitive skin and I can normally only use Ivory Soap because scented products make me itch in a place you don't want to itch. :rolleyes1

Does anyone else have a similar problem? Have you been able to use all natural products like Lush?

I also have oily hair at the roots - are any of the Lush dry shampoos better for oily hair?

Thanks!!!! :goodvibes

Isn't it great? I have been using it awhile now, and before I would get rashes underneath all the time.I have had nary a rash or redness since I started using it.I also use it as makeup primer( it is essentially identical to Smashbox photofinish primer at a 1/3 of the price!)

Hey ladies,
I have naturally wavy/friz hair. I can controll it at home with Ausi Sprunch on wet hair. I can also straighten it at home and it is good for most of the day with a little bit of flip at the bottom. At the parks I normally sprunch my hair and leave it at that until it gets too hot and I have to pull it up. I normally stay cooler when my hair is straightened, does anyone know of any humidity blocking hair product?

I wouldn't have thought about that but in my case, not much of a worry. :sad2:

I have a question, appropriate to this thread. What is the practicality, if any, of wearing a skirt? I was thinking about this. I do tend to wear skirts in the summer quite a bit. I hadn't thought about wearing one to WDW but they do keep ya cool. I just don't know, though, climbing into rides, getting wet, if they would be a really bad choice. Not the big flowing hippie skirts, but something more like a shorter straight skirt? Or maybe the big flowing hippie ones would actually be better?

Or would I just look too "what not to wear" traipsing around the Magic Kingdom in a hippie skirt, fannie pack, and matching family t-shirt? Yikes. Maybe I just answered my own question?

Anyone? Anyone?

im 14 and i wore a skirt around downtown disney. not on rides though.

I recommend putting braids in your hair it stops flyaways and your hair sticking to your face and neck!!

I got some great shorts for my trip last month (based on recommendations on this board!). They're Columbia Sportswear "Water Shorts." They're made of the type of material that you can get wet; they dry very quickly. The great thing is they're super lightweight, and you can wash them out in the sink at night and they're dry by morning. They're also much more comfortable than heavier materials.

I got mine at REI - they're on the expensive side (around $30) but totally worth the money.

So glad I came across this thread - thanks everyone! :thanks: 4 :idea:s

For thick curly hair - after years of trying different products and combos my favorite is Pantene Gel for Curls mixed with some VO5 for Normal/Dry hair - works wonders on my hair. :chewy:

For those who wear glasses - I have a small square of microfiber cloth I keep in a baggie to clean my glasses and camera lens. I also use a sport strap to keep my glasses on during the wild rides (I wanna see!!!). I use the fitover sunglasses - I know I know! I look *really* cool right? :cool2: But my friends and family don't care (or at least they don't say anything).

Heating pad - I know its bulky but worth it - for my back (or front for cramps). The Thermacare just don't work well for me.

The LB bras are excellent. Long story short I have limited motion of my right arm so front close bras work better for me - I like the Playtex 18 hour bra with the six (yes six!) hooks up the front. I only wear it with full coverage shirts since its ummmm, well 'battleship' is the only word that comes to mind. :rolleyes1

I know hand sanitizer was mentioned and I may have missed the lotion - I keep a small tube handy since the alcohol in sanitizer dries out my hands.

Keep those tips coming!
