Vacation Tips for Women! :)

The girls have issues at WDW-- which others have addressed on earlier posts. During the last trip, I used Body Glide underneath them since they're not as perky as they once used to be... But this trip I'm considering using spray deoderant/antipersperant. If so, which should I use first-- the deoderant or the Body Glide?? (I'm not thinking men have such weighty things to consider before THEIR vacation...)

I just wish I had read about the Diva cup before I got Mirena:headache:. Important to note, you can not use the Diva cup or anything like it with an IUD. Now with my Mirena, my flow timing is a little unpredictable, but super light. I always pack a little pack of panty liners. So tiny and easy to pack.

I am headed to Walmart tomorrow to find some body glide or a similar product. I DO NOT have a problem with big "girls", but my tiny ones still sweat like crazy in FL, so I am going to try the deoderant trick for sure!

I was able to get Mole skin pre-cut into popular sizes and shapes last year at my LLBean store. I had bought new sandals for my trip (first time not wearing sneakers every day) and was worried. Luckily I never needed it, but will still bring it along this year. My DD5 loves her mickey crocs, but has had trouble with the strap rubbing this year.

I have never used a over-the-door shoe holder, we aren't big "product" users. Our counter has: toothbrushes and toothpaste, deoderant, hair brush, hair ties (ponies), and a tiny gel. That's all we need everyday. I keep the toothbrushes in travel containers to keep the grems out. I also usually throw out the toothbrushes after the trip.

I always stick with the aresol sunscreen, but this year we are flying, so I packed a 3oz bottle of regular sunscreen. We plan to be in the pool before ME delivers our luggage, so we will need it.

I usually use a sunscreen face stick on our scalp. When I put it on my kids faces, I always rub it in, and use the leftover on my fingers for their part.

As for my hair, no matter how I do it in the morning, it always ends up in a ponytail by lunch time. The heat is just too much to have my neck covered. Yeah, I look horrible in our pictures, but whatever.

As for clothes, I usually wear only capris. This year I am going to try one pair of shorts, and 2 dresses. I do plan to find some little shorts to wear underneath, but if I cant, just wearing boy-shorts underwear helps me feel more covered. If they happen to get flashed, people can assume they are just small black shorts:rotfl:

Thank you everyone for the great tips!!

I found something even better and probably cheaper: Monistat powder gel. It is not an antifungal or yeast product. External use only. You find it (at least at Wal mart) by the other Monistat products. it is in an open box with the tube showing. the tube is dark blue. it costs less than $7.00 here. It goes on as a gel then feels like a power but is waterproof and lasts at least all day (mine doesn't even wash off hardly in the shower!). I had a horrible yeast infection under the girls and this completley cured it up several weeks ago. I swear by it! Won't use anything else. my dermatoligist reccommends it!

I actually have been trying to find this product. I've checked Wal mart and Target without any luck...

I'm curious - why can't one use the Diva cup with an IUD?

I think all IUDs have a string. Mirena does for sure. The string hangs through your cervix. I think the fear is that the cup can get tangled/stuck on the string? I would think a tampon would be the same, but they are fine.:confused3

I love all of the information in this thread. It is really helping me for trip planning for my trip in September.

Just went to walmart last night. I picked up some Nivea shave minimizing, gradual tanning lotion. Used it this morning, smells nice at first, fades to that normal tanning lotion smell. Don't have any status on how it works, maybe in a few days.

I also got the Monistat anti-chafing powder/gel. It was near the other monistat products at my walmart, and cost $6.37. I will try it out some time this summer before my trip, probably when we head down to the lake. I hate when my legs get wet, and I walk back up to the house.

Rub, rub, rub, rub...

And I'm only 132 lbs! Those thighs are a killer:rotfl:

Honey...even at 105 lbs my thighs rubbed...they always did.I am beginning to think that touching thighs are genetic.

Do any of you ladies use sanitary pads? Do they irritate you? I was told years ago that I was allergic to bandaid tape. I've never really had lots of issues with bandaids but when I use sanitary napkins they bother me. Sometimes the "wings" don't fold over just right and they stick to my legs. My legs get raw and wrinkly and itchy. I think it may be an allergic reation. Do they make hypoallergenic pads? I'm gonna order a Diva cup but haven't gotten around to it yet. That will probably solve all my problems.

*Any suggestions regarding bras here for those of us who are overly well endowed ???? (I'm a triple D cup here, i went down from F/G to DDD recently) and yes I am pooh sized too...

*I will have to try the peppermint cream stuff suggested for my feet as my feet can kill me easily. I've got blister pads, mole skins, and Bandaid brand blister stick already packed.

I'd be interested in hearing about this too! I hate underwire because it doesn't take long before it begins to stab me!!! I'm planning on getting a couple of more comfortable bras to take with me to the World...

I know about the string, I have a Mirena. . .it just didn't seem to me that it would be a problem, so I was wondering if there was another reason. I guess that could be it, though. :)

The only place I find good quality bras (ones that won't fall apart after a couple of weeks) that fit me (and I'm a DDD) is Lane Bryant/Cacique. They're pretty expensive, but I always buy them when they're having the buy one, get one free deal. They last and they fit really well. Hope this helps!

Thank you Lisa for the bra advice... as much I hate to spend the money, its a necessary evil to support my very ample bosom :lmao:

You're welcome - and I know what you mean! And I justify the expense by knowing that they will last quite a while. Another thing is that I NEVER put my bras in the dryer - that seems to extend their life too.

I think it's because of the suction the Diva Cup creates. When you break the suction to get the cup out, they're worried it will suction the IUD out. This is what I've read on a site when I was researching the cup, but I don't have an IUD, so I'm not positive. It makes sense, though.
