Vacation Opinions Needed

What Would You Do

  • Go with the family and chance the kids being bored.

  • Skip the family trip, and probably end up going to old reliable WDW.

  • Sit by our pool and save the trip money to put toward a new car.

I guess I should consider myself lucky that this is the big dilemma in my life right now, but I dont know what to do and I need to decide by tonight.
My family(parents, sister(Hi CAP) and her family) want to do a family trip, Boston to Bermuda cruise, next summer. My parents have done the cruise before and loved it. We have toured the ship and it looks great. They have kids clubs that also look like they would be a lot of fun. And Ive been to Bermuda once before and it loved it, but that was spring break in HS. ;) Now the dilemma is, Im worried that my kids will be bored, therefore making the trip miserable for DH & I. Knowing my kids, I definitely wouldnt count on them going to the kids clubs, and other than that I think they would just spend 7 days at the pool (which we could do for free at home). Im very nervous about spending a lot of money for a trip that we may regret...especially when I think, we could do Disney instead and save money.
Ive asked my kids and the 5yo wants the Bermuda Boat(he was impressed with the arcade he saw on the ship, and the all you can drink soda mugs:rolleyes: ), and the 2yo wants Deedee Wee(Disney World). DH & I are torn!
What would you do?

As i've grown older (and moved further and further from home), I really value the time I spend with my family -- even when it's not so pleasant, LOL.

I'd go with the family trip, if you don't get to see them that often. If they live close by and you see them all the time, I would be torn...

LOL, I live 1/2 mile around the corner from my parents and about 10-15 minutes from my sister. We get together once a week for dinner(tonight) and usually see each other more than that too.
I should add(especially since my sister will be reading this), its not the family that would make the trip unpleasant, it would be my kids if they get clingy to Daddy, which usually happens.

Go on the cruise!

Personally, we went to Orlando last two weeks of August. We were previously gone to WDW three trips. This trip was everything but Disney trip...

My daughter never asked for Disney, saw the billboards, saw the signs, even went to DTD, and NEVER ASKED!

She was too excited about Seaworld, and Universal, and other things to even notice.

I would go with family.

My DB and SIL did that cruise in July. The girls are 8 and 4. I didn't think they wold like the kids club but they LOVED it. They couldn't stop talking about it when they came home.
Family trips are special. You may never have the opportunity to do it again.

Go on the family trip. How often do you, as a entire family group, get to spend that much time together in a relaxing environment?

Go, enjoy!
