First, if there is a link I couldn't find, can someone post it so I can check i out.

Second, if not, I thought I might collect some good ideas here.

If you are staying offsite(or DVC) and cooking many of your meals, what are they?

(If no previous thread) Let's compile a list of good, but VERY EASY & QUICK meals for the family while on vacation.

Go to the Orlando attractions and hotels board there is a thread I started back a month or so ago about easy meal ideas. Do a search and it should come up. I got alot of great ideas from others there.:)

...there was an excellent thread on this subject on the Family board last summer. Even though I don't cook on our WDW vacation, there were awesome meal plans to use whenever life is busy:goodvibes I was so impressed with the detail of many of the menus:woohoo:

This is a good idea. Anyone have links to the above-mentioned threads?

Stouffer's lasagna and garlic bread from the frozen bag. that's my favorite. Pop it in the oven, wait until its done, lol.

Other family Stouffer's frozen meals.

Bags of pot roast in the little trays. Mashed potatoes from the little trays.

Bags of veggies that you just pop in the microwave.

Taco Bell.

Lunch meat, potato salad. Pre-made hard-boiled eggs (they're by the regular ones in the store).

Cereal, toast, fruit for breakfast.

Anything quick and easy. I'm not spending more than five or ten minutes total on meals, lol.

We probably spend around $200 on food, but we'd spend that on one dinner in the parks. We end up throwing some out...but we save a lot, even so. And all food turns into waste one way or another!

Some ideas I have:

Stouffer's lasagna, garlic bread, and salad
Taco Bar (taco meat, shells, and a ton of fixins)
grilled out steak and/or chicken, loaded baked potatoes, and salad

looking forward to some more ideas!!!

Ditto to what everyone else said.

Precut and washed lettuce/green salad will go a long way. It'll do your salads, your tacos, lol even a garnish to sandwiches and burgers.

Corn dogs/Sausage on a stick are a good, quick, out the door breakfast and/or snack.

Take flat, flour tortillas and make wraps adding whatever you want. I usually do up some chicken breast and season it with zesty flavored taco meat seasoning for ckn. Then, add fresh veggies, beans, cheese, and a lite salsa.

Stir fry is fast, fun & fresh too! Say that five times fast. LOL :yay:

We only had a hotel room with mini fridge & microwave (and i brought a toaster). If you are staying in a suite with kitchenette, the possibilities are endless.

We had:
Nachos (tortillas, cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, salsa, olives & pre-cooked sliced chicken)
Sandwiches ( ham sandwich meat, chicken salad and tuna were some that we made)
Cereal
Instant Oatmeal
Bagels & cream cheese
Toast & peanut butter
In-Room Brewed Coffee (I brought my own coffee grounds & bought cream)
Snacks (Beef Jerky, crackers & dip, granola bars, fruit, etc).
Pre-packaged Salads
Microwavable rice
Microwavable canned soups & pastas
We bought a large package of fried chicken & pasta salad from the grocery store.

We also had drinks in our rooms. Bottled water, and some juice. A bottle of wine for sitting out on the deck and watching the fireworks! :thumbsup2

If you have a stove you could do roasts, casseroles, lasagna (with oven ready noodles), hamburgers, hot dogs,, baked potatoes, so many things.
