Ladies, what makeup do you use that stands up to the Florida heat and humidity? I'm looking for a good WATERPROOF eyeliner and mascara. I gave up on foundation and powder (even Bare Minerals sucks IMO) and just use moisturizer with SPF.

I've never found anything that holds up to the rigors of theme park travel in the heat. Eventually, I got comfortable with just ditching the makeup during the day; especially eye makup since you usually have your shades on anyway.

It's quite freeing really. And, if you have notable dinner plans, you can always do a quick cleanup/makeup application at the room beforehand.

I agree, ditch the makeup. You'll look melted at the end of the day no matter what, but if you really want to wear something, just wear pencil eyeliner on the bottom and put a very thin line of waterproof liquid liner on your eyelids. That's what I did on certain days and for me it made my face pop a little more. Just keep it simple, and like the person above said, take your makeup with you if you have a restaurant reservation .

I use marykay tinted moisturizer, I have to put something on my face or else it gets really oily- I also use Urban Decay 24/7 pencil eyeliner and a bit of lip gloss and mascara (waterproof)

I don't wear eyeliner every day, certainly not on vacation at Disney. But mascara, yes! I like L'Oreal Voluminous Waterproof. That is my most frequently used mascara and it's never run, even in Florida heat and humidity.

That's why I wear nothing but eyeliner pencil (the mascara is for applying in the evening for the one or two nice dinners out). I don't wear foundation or powder and no tinted moisturizer...all that stuff just melts or stains. I only wear chapstick with SPF. This is how I roll everyday (most days I wear nothing but moisturizer).

Soooo...still looking for good non-smudge-smear eye pencil recs.

Loreal carbon black lineur intense felt tip eyeliner. I don't think it's waterproof but this is the only eyeliner I've ever used that doesn't budge until you remove it. I also use One by One Maybelline Mascara. Those 2 held up for all 8 days of my trip during the day! I didn't bother wearing any other makeup until dinner time!

Easy answer for me.

MAC cosmetics. Their foundation is SPF 15 and for me, has held up pretty decently in the hot weather.

and adding to that, more important than makeup, make sure to wear lip wear with SPF in it!!

I love Blinc "tube" mascara....not called "tube", because it comes in a tube, but because it wraps little water-proof tubes around your eyelases. I buy it from Sephora, and is a little pricey at $24, but worth it. Here's a description f it...

Kiss Me Mascara
What it is:
The famous pioneering, tube-technology water-resistant mascara.

What it does:
Blinc Kiss Me Mascara is the original tube-technology mascara. It's invented to form tiny water-resistant "tubes" around your lashes for maximum amplification and hold, rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. Once applied, the tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes.

What else you need to know:
This mascara adds both volume and length, to give you a radiant natural look that lasts all day. Neither water nor pressure alone will remove Kiss Me Mascara. Only the combination of lots of warm water and gentle pressure (no need for harsh makeup removers) will slide the tiny tubes effortlessly off your lashes into your hand. Upon removal, you will actually see the tiny tubes slide into your hand.

Among the nominees in the 2008 Best of Sephora, Blinc Kiss Me Mascara has is clinically tested to be non-irritating, making it ideal for sensitive eyes, contact lens wearers, and active people in search of a mascara whose look, hold, and ease of removal is without compromise.
Size: 0.21 oz

****************************

Often, I will even sleep with it on, and there are NEVER smudges in the morning. the best way to remove it is with a warm, wet cloth, and the little tubes slide off you lashes....or tae a warm shower and wipe them off.

Several years ago I had eyeliner tattooed on my upper and lower lids and had both lipliner and lip color lightly tatooed on my lips. It was the best decision I ever made. My lips are just a shade darker than their normal color, as I didn't want anything too drastic. I do wish I had had the eyeliner tatooed on a little thicker, but was afraid of it looking too fake at the time. Instead it's a thin line of blackish olive green that matches my green eyes. It looks more black unless you look at it really close though. She did a really good job. It's always straight and of course permanent, so can never smear and saves me time getting ready.:rotfl: As far as makeup at WDW, unless I'm going out for a nicer dinner, all I do is apply moisturizer with sunscreen and a lip balm with sunscreen. My lashes are naturally thick and dark, but I do occasionally wear mascara down there, or else will just curl them and then apply a clear mascara. Even though I'm usually loyal to American brands, when it comes to mascara, I think the Asian mascaras are 100% better than any of the American brands and believe me, I've tried most of them.:rotfl: My favorite mascaras are the Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume or Curl mascaras and Majolica Majorica Lash Expander. I usually order them off ebay from an Asian seller. It may take a while to get here, but is worth the wait. The only drawback (besides the time it takes to get them here) is that I have to use cleansing oil, followed by regular makeup remover to get them off. They don't budge once they are dry.:rotfl: I sat through my son's outdoor wedding on a hot Memorial day weekend a few years ago and even with the tears, heat, and humidity my mascara didn't smear.:rotfl:

As far as eyeshadows and foundation, their durability depends on what you put under and over them, as much as the eyeshadows and foundations themselves. I seldom wear either at WDW, as just about anything is going to melt off by the end of the day down there, but in everyday life I always apply a foundation primer, then the foundation and blush, then a top coat to seal everything. Same thing with eyeshadow. I use Urban Decay lid primer (the original in the purple tube--don't like the others) then apply the eyeshadow. I also like to use a lash primer before I apply mascara. As far as makeup, I have used mineral makeup for years and would never go back to the heavier feeling liquid foundations. Like most people I started off using Bare Escentuals, but quickly found alot of smaller owned companies that were cheaper, had better products, and didn't use that itchy bismuth stuff that Bare Escentuals does, plus they don't have that powdery chalky look. Lumiere, Monave, Silk Naturals, Dream World, LaurEss, Meow, and J Lynne make much more superior products, to name just a few. Just make sure you have the right brushes as the proper brushes make all the difference in makeup application. I turned my D-I-L onto mineral makeup a year or so ago. At first she said she didn't think she liked it that much because it gave her a powdery finish she didn't like. She couldn't figure out why hers looked so much different from mine. Come to find out, she was using her old brushes along with some cheap new drugstore brand brushes, plus was using the wrong technique (not the swirl, tap, buff). I'm always looking for a better brush, so have ALOT of makeup brushes.lol I gave her some of my old ones (a foundation brush, a kabuki, a blush brush, a fiberoptic blush brush, an eyeshadow buffer, a tapered eyeshadow brush, a tiny eyeliner brush, a smudger, a big fluff brush, and maybe one or two more), plus alot of mineral makeup samples I had ordered from various small dealers. She called me the next morning to say she couldn't believe the difference the right brushes and better product made. She called me again that night to tell me for the first time ever, her makeup lasted all day and still looked good that night. She also turned her mom onto mineral makeup and now both are addicted.lol

Love those makeup lines...all at Ulta!

I also use the naked palette with the urban decay eye prime, there are 12 different colors in that palette and I use everyone of them and they do stay on all day and night, totally worth the money. As for foundation and powder, I use MAC and it has yet to fail me.

I don't do makeup on vacations, except if I know I'm goign out for the evening to a very nice restaurant. Generally, I consider it to be a waste of valuable suitcase space.

An eyeliner pencil isn't taking up much space. ;)

an angle brush and fluidline (by MAC) always stays on my lid. I know I keep pushing MAC products lol, and it's because they are great! Cheap for a quality brand. Any waterproof liner on the waterline works :)

Highly recommend Maybelline Colossal Volume Falsies Waterproof mascara. Stuff does not budge!

Im pretty low maintainance during the day while @ WDW. I use a light moisturizer, curl my eyelashes (which are now long enough to stand on their own <thank you, Latisse>) and a lip stain and frequent application of lip balm.

If we're doing dinner out I'll usually freshen up and apply my regular full face--but we usually are there in the cooler months--no hot, muggy evenings for me:goodvibes.

My problem isn't dealing with make up--it's my hair:scared1: It does freaky things in the humidity:confused3

I have a fierce case of the "greasy creases"
My eyelids permanently shine ;) but Make Up Forever Aqua Creams never fail me if you are interested in a bit of lid color.

For eyeliner I use UD 24/7 liners

Mascara- Maybelline waterproof the Colossal Volum Express- take a good remover, this stuff is tough to get off.

I also get bad dark circles at disney from lack of sleep  so I take Lancôme concealer in the tube, Effacernes Waterproof.

It is $$$ but you only use a SMALL drop, so the tube lasts and it won't crease or cake. I use the airbrush concealer brush from sephora, but apply it with my finger at Disney to slap it on and get out.
