Vacation ideas - fun for what ages?

I'm looking for vacation ideas. My DD is almost 5, and an only child. We live in Florida and go to Disney alot, we also go on cruises. It's time for something new!

What vacation destinations did your 5yo enjoy (or at least not be bored to death at)? We definately plan on taking a trip sometime this coming winter to see snow as neither DD nor DH has ever seen it before.

I can't wait until she's old enough to go on some of the trips I went on as a child (Washington DC, Grand Canyon, NYC, etc.). I just wanted to know from other parents, at what age is best?

We've done Washington DC with the kids when they were younger. I've also done Sesame Place, and Montauk, LI with them and they've enjoyed all of them.

We love to vacation at the neach in Maine. It's relaxing and the kids can't get enough of the beach. Flying kites, playing ball, boogie boarding. Now that they are teenagers, they still love it!
