Not Orlando related, but I was hoping someone could help.

We have stayed at Windsor Hills and really enjoyed it. Subsquently, our family has rented a home in San Diego which we found through vbro.com.

Now we are trying to find a home near Niagra Falls for a week, but not having luck finding a home throgh the vbro site. Are there any other sites that offer vacation rental homes that you have used that might be broader than Orlando?

Thanks!

We've looked for homes in Niagara Falls and found slim pickins but there are a few nice 3 bedroom apartments on HomeAway and VRBO. Good luck!

I'm actually from Niagara Falls (NY) and would guess that there would be slim pickins indeed. If you find something and want advice on location I'd be happy to help. Though I have to say I know more about the US side than Canadian, but Canadian side is (I'm sorry I have to say) much nicer. Have a great trip - Niagara Falls is one of the most beautiful places!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the recommendations and personal experience.

Question for those of you familiar with Niagra - any suggestions on time of day or how to reduce border crossing times? We usually cross at US Rt 87/Canadian Rt 15 on the way to Montreal and it is just painful. If we are going to be staying in Canada but want to do a couple of activities in New York, is that a big ordeal?

There are 4 bridges to Canada - the Peace Bridge (in Buffalo), the Rainbow Bridge (in Niagara Falls right next to the Falls themselves), the Lewiston-Queenston (self explanatory!) and the Whirlpool Bridge. The Whirlpool Bridge is for those holding Nexus pass holders only so you don't want that. The Peace Bridge is a good way from Niagara Falls (about half hour) so you probably won't want that either. So that leaves you with the Rainbow Bridge and Lewiston-Queenston. The RB tends to get more tourists since the touristy areas of Niagara Falls are right there when you get off the bridge - in both countries. The LQ tends to get more commuters and truckers. They both tend to get busy when you would expect - weekends, rush hour. I think the LQ tends to have slightly longer waits as the RB has way more lanes. I would recommend taking the Rainbow Bridge, avoiding rush hour times. You can check how busy the bridge is here: niagarafallsbridges.com/traffic_conditions.php3 (sorry I'm not allowed to post links!)

Good luck!

I've crossed several times at Lewiston/Queenston and the wait has never been ridiculous at all. I've had way more issues crossing from Michigan!
