Vacation days

My DH has been with his employer almost 37 years and gets 200 hours (5 weeks) of vacation time. Of those, 40 hours of the 200 have to be taken during the July shutdown.

I am a SAHM so I never get vacation! When I did work the most I got was 2 weeks. My 21 y/o DD has a new job and they started her at 3 weeks paid vacation a year! She also gets 2 snow days and her company follows the Federal holiday schedule too. Pretty good deal for a receptionist! My DH gets 6 weeks a year at his company plus all the holidays and unlimited sick.

I have 200 hours of time off per year. I can use it for vacation, sick time, or personal. This does not include 9 holidays. I usually plan a 2 week vacation each year (This is all my wife gets) then the week of July 4th and a week in August for my DS cub scout camp. I leave myself a week just incase I or one of the kids is sick. What I don't use thru the year I use up at Christmas.

I get 24 days of PTO plus holidays. Also, I work a flex schedule of 4 days a week. So if I need to call in sick I can make the day up on one of the other days.

There are a lot of bankers here! I am a bank branch manager and get 3 weeks vacation, 2-3 personal days- depends on things like Mardis Gras and special days they give us, and 10 sick days. Plus all of the bank holidays, which are 10 more. After 5 years, I'll get another week. DH works for a small local company and get 1 week and then 1 day for every year he's been w/the company- so that's 6 vacation days right now. No sick days- he just doesn't get paid which is horrible! They do close every once in a while for holidays- but only the major ones. He didn't get paid for those until after his 1st year, though even! Our vacation was plannedaround a holiday so he will only have to take 4 days of vcation for the week. That leaves him 2 days for away football games or whatever.
