is the dress code jacket and tie or just jacket? what is the norm?

i'm assuming i will be ok in a little black dress.

my DF and I ate there during our visit last May to celebrate just getting engaged. All the gentlemen, including myself, were in coat & tie. You will have a wonderful time, we certainly did. Are you celebrating any special ocassion? If so make sure they know, they truly made our evening special by knowing we had just been engaged a few days before. We also highly recommend the wine pairings with your dinner. Have fun!! We know you'll love it!!

you will be fine in a "little black dress." you will see everything from just a jacket(rare)to suits to tuxedos for men. my husband has worn his tux, but this is not the norm for him. and ladies attire will be as mentioned--black dress--to formal attire. y'all will be fine. just get ready for an experience of a lifetime!

Tie is NOT a requirement. Last June we wore jackets with silk shirts and dress pants.

The requirement is only for a jacket.......although they might have a problem if you didn't wear a shirt or pants ....LOL

The norm is about 95% jacket and tie. But just a jacket will get you in.
The norm for the ladies is a dress of some sort. THo a nice pants-suit will also get you in.
For what it's worth, these days at V&A I wear a blue lightweight sport coat(w/ a Disney tie), tan slacks, and loafers. Mrs U wears a nice pants-suit and "no heel" shoes. Packing a suit and a long cocktail dress, high heels, etc proved to be too much of a hassle.

Jacket yes, tie not required. Hubby always wears his silk tees underneath his jacket.

not really - dh and i have just decided that we should try to hit some of the more adult stuff at wdw in the next few years before we have kids.

i'm thinking of surprising dh with a trip to v+a. though how i will get him to pack a coat and tie without him knowing what i'm up to remains to be seen.
