Just trying to get a feel for how difficult it is to get specifically the Chef's table or Queen's room. for day 187 or 189. Does anyone have any experience with getting either of these from the main Disney dining site. I have heard of a few people being wait listed and getting a table that way. I'm just trying to see if it's worth trying or go for another hard to get ressie (BOG) on a party night. Thoughts????

We did V&A for our honeymoon. It was fabulous. We didn't do the queen's room or chef's table though. If you splurge on the upper level stuff, I wouldn't recommend the queen's room; according to Disney's site, there are four other tables in the room, and if you're in the main room, there will be more than four other tables, but they are spaced so far apart that you will only see 4-6. We were so far away from others that it was like they weren't even there. We couldn't hear them or anything.

If you're trying to decide between V&A & BOG, V&A is a sure winner. It's the best food I've ever had, and it's visually pleasing. The attentiveness of the waitstaff is like nothing I've experienced as a common person... lol. BOG is really cramped. They put you practically on top of each other. We ate there, too, and I could almost touch the couple next to us elbow-to-elbow. Literally, if I were to hold my arms out at my sides, I would have hit people on each side. That's how close you are. V&A will cost you 3-4x more, but it will be a much more memorable experience.

We didn't have any trouble booking V&A 180 days out. I also booked V&A for my upcoming trip, and I booked about 20 days after the 180 window.

EDIT: Booking BOG, especially on a party night, is going to be quite hard. Just a heads up. The only reason we got BOG is because a DISer gave us her reservation -- and I was up and had the page loaded at 6 a.m., 180 days out. It seems like it hasn't improved, either. I've been checking daily for BOG for our upcoming trip with no luck, and I'm looking for both party nights of that particular week..

Thank you for your opinion Disneymoon2013. Did you book on the regular Disney site at your 180+10 or did you book with the V & A phone #on the exact 180 day?

I booked the Queen's room at 6am online at exactly 180 for my parents anniversary. I had tried on a couple of the previous days, later in the day, but it was already booked. This was for the middle of September. Other than this one experience booking it I have no clue as neither myself nor my immediate family has ever dined there.

I booked online 180+10, but I had to call later to inform them of a food allergy.

My mom & I are doing a mother/daughter trip in September at WDW, and we're doing V&A together. It's a late reservation on a Saturday (8:45), and I keep checking back trying to snag an earlier dinner time around 6:30 - 8:00. I was late making reservations this time because we didn't plan the trip until about 2 weeks past the 180 window.

I don't know about booking the queen/chef's table online since we did the main room.

We have dined in both the main dining room and the Queen Victoria room. I wouldn't hesitate to do either one, but for us, the Queen Victoria room was the winner. We had the first seating at 5:00 or 5:30ish, and had the room to ourselves for a while before the next party came in. I think we got the best choice of seats, next to the fireplace, and it was beautiful. There are more courses in the QV room, and it was just more special for us. We are dining at the Chef's Table next month, and I expect that it will be a fantastic experience. My advice for a special dinner is to try for the Chef's table, then QV room, then main dining room. If you cannot book it online, give the direct phone number to the restaurant a try. They can waitlist you, or perhaps they will have an opening that is not showing up online. We also enjoyed BOG for dinner. We've eaten there twice for dinner and had great meals. For some reason, we have not had the experience of "closeness" that a PP had. We ate once in the main ballroom, and once in the West Wing. Fun experience, and we enjoyed sharing a bottle of wine at dinner in the Magic Kingdom!!! However, it is not the high end dining that you'll find at V&A. Good luck, and enjoy your trip!

We ate in the main ballroom. Were you at a 2-person table or a four-person table? The four-person tables seem to be spaced further apart. We were at a 2-person table, and it was in the first week of December. :confused3 I didn't realize the Queen's room offered more courses at V&A.

Ahhh... that could explain it. We were at a 4-top in BOG, as we are a family of 3. The only negative thing I have to say about the atmosphere in the ballroom is how noisy it is. I didn't notice it as much in the West Wing, as that's a smaller space. But the ballroom is still a work of art, and we enjoyed eating there very much.

The QV room does indeed offer more courses, and is supposed to be similar to the number of courses at the Chef's Table. I think that's a big part of the price difference. It was a longer meal, and Chef Hunnel also came out and spoke to us. I don't know if that part is usual, or he was feeling extra sociable that night, but it was a nice surprise!!
