UY add-on -- 2007 points?

I'm in the process of buying 100 BCV points with a December UY. After it closes, I think I want to buy 100 VWL points from Disney (if I can't find a resale in the meantime), and I understand they would also take on a December UY. Since I'd still be in my 2007 UY, would I be getting 2007 points and paying 2007 MF? I feel like I should already know the answer to this from reading the DVC boards for many months now, but I don't

Yes you will get 2007 UY points and no you would not pay 2007 dues. You would pay 2008 dues pro-rated from your purchase date. For example if you purchased on April 1st, you would be billed for 275 days worth of dues, roughly 3/4 of the annual amount.

If you buy that VWL via a resale then you might not have any 2007 UY points b/c the seller might have already used them for 2007. They could also have used their 2008 points with borrowing. Just make sure to check that carefully if you take the resale route.

I know -- it's going to take a good resale contract for me to go that route. I'm getting all of the 2007 points on my BCV resale purchase

MS usually lets people bank the current UY points they get with their add on, even if they purchase past the banking deadline for their UY. (This is not the case if you purchase a contract via resale past your banking deadline.) Also, if you purchase an add-on, Disney does not charge any closing costs. Since resale's closing costs can add about $5/pt to the price of a 100-pt contract, you need to factor that into the price comparison.

If they are December 2007 points, you don't have to worry about banking until July 30.
