Lots of issues with utilities this week at the fort ! Monday the 1500 loop has some sort of major septic or water issue . LOTS of trucks , tankers , utility workers , loop blocked , off HUGE hole carved into the road at the entrance of the loop blocking half the entrance . Not sure exactly but it looks like a major septic issue ?
Also , got a note on our RV door while we were at MK , that they had a planned electrical outage in our loop (300) for at least 4 hours 10-2 , maybe longer . That pretty much ruins our plans for the day , as we have a dog . We were planning on leaving him in the RV with the a/c , and web cam so we could go out (he was at best friends yesterday, as we went to MK for the day ) . He is not a barker but , we like to check on him with the web cam , and with a 90 degree day planned , we can’t leave him in the rv with no a/c ! Thank god we didn’t have a park reservation planned today! We got less than a days notice for this ........ I am kind of pissed . Kind of ruined our plans for most of the day now . For $250. a night for camping , do you guys think I should complain , get a night comped or something . Think I am going to go to the front desk and try . Ughhh ,guess we won’t be going to Disney Springs this morning to beat the crowds and heat !

I would complain if it was me. Sometimes we bring our dog and sometimes we don't, but when we bring him he needs to have AC and we have park plans every single day of our trip, something like this would ruin our ability to use our park passes. Would also suck if you had a crockpot meal planned to come back to. I would not be a happy camper for sure.

Wow. We'd been debating on whether or not to bring our generator since we aren't dry camping anywhere this trip. I guess this answers that question! Better safe than sorry.

We can't leave our guy in the trailer, he's a yapper. So we have day-boarding kennel reservations for each day.

Ok , update ........ power has not been shut off in 300 loop yet . At the front desk , she said she heard it may not be . Kind of hard to plan with “maybe” . We put on the a/c and web cam , and went out for a few hours knowing that if the power went out , we would have to come back fairly quickly . Pleased to report , no power outage as of yet .
Lots of construction going on all over . Loop 1500 is still a mess with a huge gaping hole in half the entrance . 1400 is being dug up to the side of entrance as well . Many construction trucks , boom trucks , tankers , electric service trucks , etc . All over the place.
Not sure what the water and/or septic problems are , but rumor around the fort is the electrical work is 5G being installed .

5G would be nice, but (forgive my tech-ignorance) I think they'd have to do a lot more than just upgrade the system to make it more accessible than it is now. There was a thread not long ago about needing more whatchamacallits and whozits to boost the signal to make it reliable throughout the CG.

'Private' day-boarding at Best Friends is only $38.00, onsite guest rate + AAA discount. I think the base rate is $42.00. You may want to call them to see if they have any openings if you get verification of a definite shutoff. Dogs must have rabies, distemper, & bordatella vax for 'private' kennel boarding. If you put them in 'group' day care they also have to have canine flu-H3N2 & H3N8. I think the group day care is a bit less than the private kennel.

Yes , our pup was boarded on Tuesday while we were at MK , and today while we are at Epcot . We planned for that and made reservations . It was $39. for the day with our DVC discount .

I don't know any details on how they plan "known" work, but a 5G upgrade HAD to be in a planning process for some time. Couldn't they do that month's before the electrical demand goes sky-high due to air con requirements? Couldn't they have done any of that during the Covid closure or Covid reduced capacity time? Come on Disney, where are your Master-degree level planning corps?

Just got a call from FW while at Epcot , that we WILL have a “planned” power outage between 4-6+ .Good thing we didn’t leave our pup in the camper today ! Sheesh .

I think I would be having a polite conversation with the front desk. Any disruption like that would cause me to ask for the day to be comped. I have always found the CM's to be very empathetic to these sorts of things.

So glad your pup is at Best Friends today! Hmmm, '4-6+'? Hopefully not too much past 6. It'd really chap my hide if I got home from the parks at 'whatever' o'clock and found I had no power/no AC. Not to mention that those are prime dinner prep hours.

If it is they probably have an outside contractor working on it and they would have to go by their schedule to when they are available or even wait until something else was completed in the area before they could start the work. Would be nice to get everything done when no one was there but unfortunatly it's not always practical.

Ok , must be something pretty major as 1500 loop is completely closed now , and the tenters have been re-homed in various loops through FW . Have never seen so many tents on RV sites !

That might be pretty cool. Having a tent on a premium site.

Of course driving the stakes would be a bit of a chore.

Come to think of it , most of the tents have been in preferred , and full hook up sites . Can’t remember how many we saw in the premiums . Maybe not many , but there were a few for sure .

I figured that was the case, just a joke. The full and preferred sites have the sand pads on them so they can drive the stakes in the ground. I've seen folks utilize the full hook up sites instead of the regular tent sites so they had more concrete for ease ups or parking.

Rode my bike past the 1400 today. There is about a 10x10 hole right next to the entrance, but the loop is almost full. They have been working on a same sized hole next to the 1500 entrance, but the whole thing is blocked off today. The holes are filled with tubes and wires coming up out of the ground.

Sounds like Stitch has been busy.:stitch2:
