UT ticket upgrade to DVC annual pass?

I will try to make this short. I am on the waitlist for 2 add on days to our trip at DVC resorts. I booked 2 nights at Art of Animation just in case. I booked an AP rate. If the waitlist comes through, I will not need the AP. (I will be getting TIWL) Do to MDE, I want to link out tickets. If I buy an Undercover Tourist Ticket and need the AP discount, can I upgrade the UT ticket to DVC annual pass (after using 1 day)?

Last March I considered upgrading my UT to Annual pass. Every GS I went to had a different cost for upgrading. They were all close to DVC price minus UT cost I paid for ticket. No extra saving like some reported in the past.

I was not certain if I would have a second trip so I used up the UT ticket and will buy AP for this December.

We bought UT 5 day hoppers last May just before price increase. Will use them for our 4 night stay at BLT in October 2013. Will also be at AKV in Jan 2014 (4 days) and then BLT in Nov 2014 (6 days). Was just going to use the 5 day hoppers for this trip and then get a DVC discount AP to carry me from Jan thru Nov trips. Is there any reason I should upgrade to an AP in October 2013 and then renew AP for our trip in Nov 2014? Very confused.

I don't see a reason to upgrade to an AP this October, unless you would book a "bonus" cash room trip for Nov-Dec '13...or plan a long enough trip by Oct '15 to make the AP renewal in '14 worthwhile (if you also did Jan '15 and Oct '15 on that Nov '14 AP renewal, that would be )

And you can save a couple of bucks more if you subscribe to the Mousesavers .com monthly newsletter and use their link. All together you might be saving $80-100 for a family of 4

You could also look for an occasional Orbitz activity deal through Ebates, sonetimes you can get 10% cash back (paid quarterly) ...but Orbitz vouchers cannot be added into MDE in advance, where UT sends valid tickets that work in MDE.
