Using WDW tickets at DL

We are heading to DL in October before our Hawaiian cruise and have unused WDW non-park hopping tickets. One of these tickets has never been used (not non-expiration). I also have a few room key cards that contain one non-park hopping day each. I read on Mousesavers it is possible to use WDW tickets at DL. Has anyone had any experience with this? Anyone know who I can contact at DL to confirm this information? Just trying to figure out if I need to purchase DL tickets or if I can use the WDW tickets I already have.

Thanks!
Laura

I have done it, but your situation is complicated.

The procedure is to head right to the turnstiles, with your WDW pass. NOT guest relations. I had no expire WDW hoppers. The CM tells you to step to the side, and calls a supervisor. the supervisor takes your passes, and goes backstage somewhere, and I believe they CALL WDW. Or go into WDW's computer system. WDW then manually takes a day off your pass, the supervisor returns with a 1 day pass, and your WDW pass. She swipes it, scans it whatever, and they have you enter the park, then she hands the passes to you.

I would GUESS, that if you have a WDW hopper, you get a DL hopper (like I did), and a WDW non hopper would give you a DL non hopper. (??)

As for your expiring tickets, you might have a problem, could be once they remove a day off one of those, the clock starts running on it to expire in 7 days, 14 days, whatever. I am not sure about the room keys with one day on them, but I would think they would work the way any other WDW pass would work.

You should probably call DL guest relations.

I'm also curious to know more about this.

Myself, dh, and my dd also have WDW passes. We are planning our first trip to CA and DL.

Our passes were originally 10 day, no expiration, bought when my dd was 8. We paid a child fee for her pass. Now that she is 12, I would imagine that even at WDW, they would now require her to pay an upgraded age fee.

Can anyone confirm this?

It would be nice to use our passes at DL. We were also thinking of doing the Southern Cal passes though which get me DL, Seaworld and Universal.

I know I could do Seaworld and Universal combined, but then if DL does not honor my WDW passes, I would be stuck.

Our trip plans having us go to Seaworld in San Diego first.

Any help/advise is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your reply. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Thanks!

Okay... First, for the OP, as the previous poster mentioned, your situation is a bit different than the "norm", so I'm not 100% sure. I have read conflicting reports on this site about using tickets that have not yet been activated at WDW. I believe someone posted that they had some tickets for WDW that hadn't been activated yet but they were able to exchange them at the DL gates... and I've read at least one report of a CM telling a guest that if the WDW tickets haven't been activated at WDW yet, then they won't show up in the system there and thus cannot be used at DL. I'm also not sure if the room keys can be used in the same way as non-expiring park-hoppers. I'd really try to call or email and get the name of the person that you talk to if they say it can be done... or get it in writing...

I'm also curious to know more about this.

I seem to recall reading that a few people here had WDW child's tickets for their now 10+ yo kids, but were able to get them honored at DL as adult tickets without paying a difference. I'd guess prepare to have to pay the difference, but hope that you don't.

***for BOTH of you*** please note that you have to make the WDW to DL exchange EACH morning at the turnstiles, and it can take up to 15 minutes to process this as it requires a supervisor to make the transaction. If you have a hopper, you'll get a hopper. If you have a one-park, you'll get a one-park. They can only do one day at a time, so if you're going for 3 days, you'll have to do this transaction all 3 mornings.

Thanks for the info! What we might do is take the tickets along with us and just be prepared to buy DL tickets at the gate if our tickets won't be honored. There are just so many variables involved!
