Using unused WDW tickets at DL...how it went

Hello,

I had some unused 2 day WDW base tickets from a previous stay to WDW.
We did a split stay with free dining so didn't use the tickets from one of the stays at all.
It was from a free dining stay that required 2 day tickets to be inluded to get free dining.
So one half of the stay was with 2 day base tickets which we didn't use and the other was 10 day tickets which we used on that WDW visit.

Right now we are visiting California and being so close I thought why don't the kids and I go to Disneyland for a visit using those tickets up so it will be a 'cheap' trip. DH wanted to keep golfing so he didn't come.

First day went fine. From reading these boards I knew to go to the gate and present our KTW cards that had the tickets on them.

They called over a Supervisor who went off and came back with our DL tickets for that day.

Next morning went to the gate and same thing happened but this time the Supervisor came back with just 1 ticket and said the other 2 cards were finished.
She said I would need to go buy 2 more passes at ticketing.

Confused I gave her my DH's KTW card to check he still had 2 days showing (Doh!) and she came back with 1 more ticket having stripped it from his card.
So now his card which I was saving for a future visit would expire....but I didn't remember that at the time as I was confused and frazzled.

So she tells me I have 2 tickets now but will have to go pay for the 3rd I need.
When I said that doesn't seem right she said to "Call Florida".
Unhappy I walked over to Guest Services who weren't happy I was there and also said I should "Call Florida".

I explained what had happened and how come I got 2 days fine off 1 card but not off the other 2. They made me feel like I was lying but did give me a comp ticket to get my DS in for the day.

So an hour later we did get into the park but I lost the ticket value off my DH's KTW card completely.

We had a fun two days but the trouble on the second morning took a bit to shake off as it left me feeling icky.

So flame suit on but I just thought people would like to know how it went for us.

That really sucks. I wouldn't let it stop there. Sounds like you lost something you were supposed to have, and that's just not OK.

I think you should call Florida.....

Ha! Those were their exact words.

I am thinking to myself...I am standing at the entry to Disneyland in California and you are telling me to "Call Florida" as to why there is a problem with my tickets.

I don't live in the U.S. so any call on my cell would be an expensive roaming charge call.

Plus I am not actually sure who or where I am to be "Calling Florida".
I will email Disney when I get home.

Thanks for letting me vent.
:)

Keep us posted on this! We go to both parks, and I was thinking of getting the non-expiration tickets next time we're in Florida so we can use them in Disneyland as well, but if it's that big of a hassle, never mind!

LOL I know.....but I really think you need to talk to someone and I think they would be more helpful/knowledgeable in FL. LOL ;)

Edited to say, I also feel that the DL CM should have called FL for you and not told you to do it, that's just ridiculous!

I've heard (on this board) of similar incidents, which is one reason I'd be hesitant to try it. It's one of those things that you don't really have a lot of recourse on since it's an unofficial policy. Plus, that's exacerbated by the fact that you can't somehow check what they have done. I hope you have some luck contacting someone at WDW.
