Using Uber

Anyone use Uber from their Disney Hotel to get to Universal Orlando? I was checking into this for our party of 7. I am sure we will need two cars but seems to still be the cheapest as far as transportation is concerned. How early to they start and how late did they run?

I used uber to get from All Star Sports to Cabana Bay at Universal back in September. It was super early in the morning, around 5 am, because I was meeting my friend who flew in on the red eye. It was really easy and fairly cheap. Uber is alway available, but there may be more or fewer drivers out at any given time, or possible surge pricing, if it is a high demand time. With that many people, you will definitely need more than one vehicle, since I believe the passenger limit for uberXL is 6.

We are going in Mid May. Do they let you know right away what the cost will be? Would we need to wait long for a ride?

In the app itself, you can get a Fare quote a Range based on Service. You also have the ability to wait a little bit by getting an alert when the Surge pricing ends. For a group of 7, I would use something like UberBlack because those services are Sedan Services and may have a Limo or larger Sedan that can handle that size group. I have never had a wait of more than 10 minutes when using Uber. This is using the more regular services.

With our big of a group would it be cheaper to go with Mears or do you think Uber would help us come out ahead? Would it be cheaper to go with two regular cars with Uber than the Uber Black? If we had to split up how many does the economy car hold?

I would get a quote for both of these. It may be Mears or another car Service would beat Uber's Sedan level service. I would say Two regular cars with Uber May be cheaper. I would try the Above thread and asking the questions you have there.
