Using stairs instead of elevator at BWV?

I want to request a room in the south wing for our upcoming BWV stay. There's a set of stairs that takes you to the ground floor exit toward the south end of that building, right? It's been awhile since I stayed there.

Yes. There are actually a number of stairs thru out the wings. Required for emergency egress. There's one set at the very end of that south wing that comes out by the canal. There's another one by the last corner. And others along the way.

And you may need your Magic Band/room keycard to open the outside door when returning to the building through those doors. Some are locked all the time, some are locked after about 8 pm or so, and the door to the Boardwalk/village green area in the alcove between the art gallery and the ATM is exit only, since there is no handle to open it from the outside (unfortunately, if you want to walk to a BW-view room, since you have to go through the elevator lobby to re-enter the building).

I've really wished that exit allowed re-entry. I think it's the only one that does not.
