Using Someone Elses' Pass

Not sure what kind of information woulbut d satisfy them that it is my pass. But that does suggst that a photo ID is not mandatory. I could show plenty of other ID (credit card, DVC member card, etc), but I'm not going to take my license into the parks and risk losing it (meaning I couldn't fly home).

What experiences have others had recently when the finger scan didn't match?

A cc is not considered ID. Anyone with a stolen wallet could claim to be you with a CC or DVC member card. As a long time AP holder, I have been asked for Photo ID when ever there was an issue with my AP.

I have very weird feeling about this thread. Sorry but it seams like a "Guide on how to cheat a system". Smells bad. IMO.

There are certain rules in place. As a Greeter, Ticket Seller, or Guest Relations CM I have certain flexibilities, and am expected to make decisions based on my allowed flexabilities. There are certain rules that I cannot break, but there are many rules that I can, in my judgement, bend. And I will honestly state the the person's attitude can affect whether or not I will bend a rule, and how much.

One rule is that if a persons fiinger scan fails more than once on an AP I have to see a photo ID or make some other judgement, based on information available to me, that the person with the AP is the person to whom it was issued.

So, please tell what is the policy on remaining nts on a 10 day park hopper which I purchased and used 2 days on and still have the original receipt for. All I want to do is allow my mother & father to use these tickets, with me present, as I currently now have (and always will have for the foreseeable future) an annual pass? Allowed or not allowed?

I think it's been stated multiple times in this very thread.

Partially used tickets are not transferable to anyone. Period. That is Disney's policy on it. Whether you are with the people or not has no bearing on anything. Having a receipt is also not relevant.

Yeah, I saw them. I also saw a post from a CM saying that some circumstances are hard and fast rules and some are discretionary or "bendable". So, asking him or her if this is one of those discretionary situations. Am I hurting you by asking, Vicki?

Can we infer your intent from your username?

Honestly, the only way you're going to know for sure if you can do this is when you go to use them. You can try to go through the turnstiles and see if you can get away with it and deal with the consequences. Or you can go to guest services first, kindly explain the situation and see if an exception can be made.
I'd suggest going through the proper channels. Coming here and asking is not going to give you a hard core yes or no. But again, tickets say non-transferrable so, by policy... not allowed.

No need for personal attacks. User name is Connie & Robert , if you must know.

And I hardly consider asking if my parents can use tickets I paid almost $1,000 for because I now buy annual passes at around $900 a year, conning and robbing anyone. Geesh!:headache:

The rule is the tickets are non transferable. It should be printed on the back of the tickets themsleves.

Yes, now I know "the rule". It is also clearly stated a few posts up from a CM that some rules are bendable, discretionary- that is all I am asking. Is this one of those hard and fast rules or is it one that a CM has some "flex" with? Guess I'll find out inb a few weeks.

Where does it say the "non transferable" rule has flex?:confused3

From the Disney website:
Q. Are tickets transferable? Can I give them to someone else to use the remaining days?

A. Please note that all Magic Your Way Tickets are nontransferable and must be used by the same person on any and all days. The person who uses the ticket for the very first time must use the ticket for its entirety. Any tickets that are transferred are in violation of this restriction and are invalid for admission.

OMG, really? A few posts above, a CM indicates that he/she has the ability to bend or use discretion on some rules. He/she does not specify which rules these are or when "bend" is allowed. So, I was aksing his/her opinion on whether there would be "bend" on the part of a CM in this type of situation.

Anyway, I am going to find out if a CM will "bend" on this in 6 weeks and I'll report back.

Really! Good luck in finding someone to tell you they will break the rule for you. Have a good trip.

livndisney, can you read? Please read Chesire Figment's post and tell me what you think it means. I think what it means is that some CMs will bend some rules in certain situations. Not sure if this is one of them or not, but what harm does it do to ask? Why are you so upset about it?

Yes I can read. I read everyday when I am at WDW.

Wishing you good luck and a good trip means I am upset? OK :lmao:

Is "have a magical day" better?

Yes, I can use judgment. However, one thing I will not do is state what can be bent or even how much. And I will not put this specific information in either a public post or a private message. The only way a person can find out if a rule can or will be bent is to show up and see.

As CheshireFigment just posted, there is no way to tell, in advance, which rules are more flexible than others. I would imagine that the vast majority of CMs will want to see ID if there is any question as to IDs for park passes. I have spend thousands, many thousands, of dollars at WDW. I don't believe that entitles me to bend the rules in my favor. I know that park passes are non-transferrable. Now...perhaps if you were to give your parents your old passes, they may very well have no issues with them at the gate. On the other hand, they may not work correctly and they could be asked for ID. And they won't have proper ID. The CM on duty may take pity on them and allow them through. On the other hand, they could be denied access and sent away to buy appropriate park passes. You, as the pass owners, could also be subject to ejection from the park...that has happened before as well.

So, do what you wish. But, be prepared for possible consequences. Saying that you have given Disney a ton of money isn't going to really cut it here. The vast majority of us have spent a bundle there.
