I am a DVC member taking my parents and my DH parents in May for a family vacation. My DH and I usually use our room charge for all expenses (i.e. meals, etc.) Here is my dilemma. My parents and my family is staying in a 2brdm. Can they be set up to have thier own account for their own charges? Or will their charges come off my account since I am the DVC member?

Does anyone know if we can split the charge accounts? I don't want to end up paying for all their meals.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments! :cutie:

We get four keys and only allow charging on two of them-for me and the wife. The childrens keys get no charging privileges.

Only one charge plate per room. But you can get a printout of all your charges the night prior to checkout, and they can then pay their share with their credit card, and then put your card back on the account for express checkout in the morning.

Right... but can my parents have their own account, and my DH and myself have our own?

No, one charge plate on file per reservation. The two bedroom is ONE reservation.

Sorry Chuck S,

I was replying to golie5hole. Our replies must have passed. What you said makes sense, and sounds like it would work for us. Thanks!

I'm taking family for a trip, too, later this year. I think it will be easier just to not put room charging ability on their cards and let them charge directly to their credit cards if they want to pay for expenses during the trip that way rather than with cash.

Thanks, you have answered a question for me too! We are staying w/ another couple in a 2-bed.

I really don't want to have to settle the bill at the end of the trip. Now to work on DH to make him tell his friend that he can't use the room key to charge...

You don't have to tell them. You just make sure that charging privileges are not on their cards. We used to do that for our kids all the time.
