Using Resort key to make purchases

I would like to know the extent of I can use the resort key to make my purchases. Do all counter service and stores take it? What about the street cart vendors? I'm trying to determine how much cash to bring into the park, I would prefer to put as much as possible on my resort bill.

Everyone but the cart vendors that sell soda, ice cream etc. take it.

The Harmony Barber Shop in MK can't charge it to your room key, but they do take major credit cards.

We did this on our last trip; the only things we paid cash for was a soda or ice cream at a cart. We used our room key for all counter service, almost all souvenier purchases, and of course all sit down meals with the exception of Shula's. You can't use your resort key to charge at the Swan & Dolphin restaurants.

Thanks for the quick answers. I'm glad to hear that I can use it for just about everything. I hate carring alot of cash.
