Using points from two contracts - BLT and Saratoga

I was calculating points last night and was wondering if I stay 4 nights at BLT it’ll be 192 points. Since I have 160 points banked from 2020, I would use those points first and then the 32 points from my 2021 points. At 7 months, can I modify the points I use and use the points I have from my Saratoga Springs contract and then put those 32 points (the ones I took from 2021) back into my BLT contract? Basically swap points… I hope that makes sense. I’d book my BLT stay with BLT point from the start, but then I would just want to change which points I apply to the trip. TIA

You can only modify like that if the BLT room is available at 7 months. If another Saratoga owner could not book the same category that day, you cannot swap in your Saratoga points.

In other words, you cannot block availability with home resort points and then swap in sleeparound points at 7 months

The only thing I would add is that if any of the nights are still available they will take any banked SSR points if you modify online.

If the nights are available mid trip, you will have to call to have them swap in SSR points as the BLT contract will be locked.

If nothing is there, then no change can happen.

Thanks everyone. So only if that room that day was available would I be able to book or modify points? Just curious- I know at 7 months I can book anywhere. Hypothetically, If one night was 42 points could I use 20 points from one contract and 22 points from another contract?

Yes, if the points are all in the same use year (and thus same membership). Whether you can do it online when reserving is a different issue. When doing a reservation online with two contracts, you put the contracts in the order in which you want them used. Then when you make the reservation if there are any banked points from either contract, they will be used first. Then points from the first-listed contract will be used next, and the system will not go to the second contract until there are no more points in the first contract. In other words, you cannot just choose to use 22 points from one contract, and then 20 from a second if that first contract has more than 22 points in it. That kind of division can be done when reserving via call to MS.
