Using points for a member cruise

For those who have used points for both, what makes a member cruise worth the extra points? Thank you

I have not taken one yet but from what I have read, it is definately unique from other cruises. Worth the extra points/cash, I am not so sure. I probably wouldn't do it with a party of 4 with children but may consider it for a party of 2 with just my spouse as I believe the type of unique experience would benefit the adults more than the children.

This is our plan. Wait until the kids are grown and go without them.
