Using points at DisneyLand hotel vs Grand Cali?

Hi

We were just in DW and are planning a trip to DL in August. Yesterday we took the DVC tour and the salesmen said we could not only use points at Grand California, but we could use them to stay in the other two DisneyLand hotels as well at 25 pts a day. A) has anyone heard of this, b) if true is it only if you buy direct vs resale?

a) yes. b) direct only.

25 pts per night is the minimum amount it would take for a hotel room at paradise pier in january. it quickly goes up from there.

in general, you would do better to rent your resale pts and book a room for cash rather than pay extra to buy direct...but that is the hook they use, yes.

Correct. So it's important to read read read, especially here, before making the decision to buy in.

Also, once you put your points towards something like Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier Hotel, or a cruise, those points are forever changed, and you cannot cancel the reservation and use those same points towards a DVC reservation.
