I didn't know if I should ask this here or on the Rent/Trade Board - but here's my question -----

Hypothetical scenario:

--Want to make ressie & have 100 of my own points
--Need 200 points for entire stay

Question:

--Can I purchase points from another DVC owner & attach it to my ressie or is it a totally separate ressie? If it's totally separate would we be required to move mid-stay or do they let you stay in the same accommodations?

Actually here's my answer to the whole situation:

GET DH TO BUY MORE POINTS!!! (Actually he does want to - it's just a matter of financial timing)

You can try to find someone to transfer the 100 points into your account- you can then make reservations in your name with the points without problem.

You can also have another member make 100 points worth of reservations for you and link the two together (you can ask MS to link them yourself). As long as they are linked, you won't need to move- the worst that could happen is that you'd need to get new keys for the 2nd portion of your stay- and that may not even be necessary.

Enjoy!

We rented points and had them transferred to our account, it worked fine. I then used the combined points to make reservations from the wonderful trip we had this Thanksgiving. Everything went off without a hitch and we got an "extra" trip to Orlando. Having the points transferred to your account makes them "yours" to do with as you like... We saved a lot of money over what it would have cost to pay cash for the nights we didn't have points for!

Thanks for the responses. That helps with making plans for future trips!
