Using my SPG card at the Dolphin

I have a Starwood Card and am just wondering exactly how to use it at the Dolphin in September.

I know I have to show it at checkin, but what about restaurants and shops? Do I have to show the card each time I make a purchase/buy a meal and are there any exclusions where you don't get points? Or is just showing it at the desk on day of arrival enough?

Any help with this would be great!

To make sure I am clear with what you are asking - normal procedure for getting points at ANY Starwood property is just to make sure your SPG number is attached to the reservation. Upon check-in and check out confirm that they have your tab credited to your account.
If you are charging stuff (food) at the hotel to your room then you will automatically be credited - if you are paying cash or credit as you pay at a restaurant then you need to show them your SPG card when you order - or before you pay your tab to make sure they credit it to your account. Then I would also save my receipts carefully too. Usually things are posted to your SPG account by the end of the month - or sooner.

One more question, if you don't mind. Can I get SPG points on purchases at the shops? And at Tubbis? And are there any items which you can't get points on? ie groceries from Tubbis?

Yes, you can. You can charge it to you room and get the credit that way. It is how I do it
