Using microwaves in baby center?

I was wondering it is allowed, or proper etiquette, to use the microwaves in the baby center for heating up Mac&Cheese for my one son that is a VERY picky eater. He is not a baby.

Thanks.

Considering they won't let bottle-feeding mothers use the rocking chairs, I somehow doubt they will let you do this.

It should not be a problem, it will depend on the CM working it though. They allow guest to heat there kosher meals and allergen free foods, so I don't see why that would be a problem. I think the only real rule for the micro is that it must be a food item ( like you cant pop in a heating pad or somehting like that).

What if my darling wife wants to heat up her leftovers from Red Lobster? Would that be ok with the cms?

I would bet dollars to donuts that the CMs would have a problem with it.

Disney is first and foremost a business and their goal is to make a profit for the shareholders.

Since Mac and Cheese is a commonly found item I would think that the CMs would just advise the OP to go and purchase some mac and cheese for her son.

I can see them allowing specific dietary requirements that are not commonly found in the parks, such as kosher or diets required by health, being allowed, but not something that can be easily found in the parks.

That they want to be able to sell to you. And they should be able to sell common foods, because that is how they can keep the parks open to provide all that magic for everybody.

I don't think it would hurt to ask but I would have a plan B just in case they say no.

I think the problem may be if the CM gives you permission to use the microwave then they will have to say yes to every one else. Then the baby center is no longer a quiet place to feed babies. KWIM?

I am fortunate that my DDs aren't picky eaters but my niece is and I see how frustrating it is for my sister. Good luck:flower3:

I'd ask ahead of time. If I had just hiked across the park to warm a bottle for my baby, I would not be happy if I was standing in a line for the microwave while someone heats up macaroni and cheese. Especially when mac & cheese is pretty readily available in the parks.

There are plenty of places to purchase mac-n-cheese at the parks. In fact, you are not allowed to bring in items that need heating.

Here is Disney's official policy:

Q. Can food be brought into Walt Disney World® Resort and Theme Parks?
A. Guests are allowed to bring food items, such as snacks or foods that do not require heating, into any Walt Disney World® Resort. If you have items that need to be refrigerated, please ask the front desk Cast Member to have a refrigerator placed in your room. Please check with the front desk to see if there is a charge for use of the refrigerator. Guests are allowed to bring food items, such as snacks or foods that do not require heating, into any Walt Disney World® Theme Park. Just inform a Security Cast Member.

Celia, I am so glad you posted that. I am also glad WDW has updated their policy to reflect what they actually allow. Good for them. Sounds pretty clear to me.

I'll be flamed, I am sure, but I can't imagine catering to a kid like that. I just wouldn't put up with that level of "picky."

I thought the same thing. No way am I putting up with that, unelss there is some other medical issue at work. We have a "you eat what we eat or you don't eat at all" policy at our house.

Let's not be judgmental. Maybe there's a reason. My nephew is a very picky eater and I used to be surprised that my SIL catered to him. (He would only eat a handful of things, and only one *brand* of Mac and Cheese.) He has recently been diagnosed with some pretty severe sensory issues. He's in OT now and doing much better... as his OT works, he's getting a little better about eating, too.

If the OP is bringing food in, I bet she's dealing with a whole different level of picky.

My son has SID (food aversions included), so believe me, I know about sensory issues. I stand by my earlier post.
