My kids and I are getting ready to spend a great WDW/DCL combo vacation in FL! After the cruise, we are staying 2 nights at the Boardwalk. I have a question regarding the ME to the airport. Our flight doesn't leave until almost 7pm. I'm assuming my luggage will be collected the morning we fly out. Would it be okay to have family take us to the airport while using Disney to transport my luggage? Kind of like on board check in when you cruise? There is no way our luggage will fit in the car but we will be spending the day with family.

I don't have the answer to your question, just wanted to say we are doing a bwi and cruise combo as well! :goodvibes.

Sort of. As long as your airline is a participating airline, you can avail yourselves of RAC: Resort Airline Check-in - not Magical Express. Any time between 5:30 AM and 1 PM (give/take a half hour) you can bring your luggage to the designated area at your resort. You can check in for your flight, check your luggage, get your boarding passes and claim checks.

Disney resorts don't automatically collect your luggage tge way cruise lines do.

You can't simply take your luggage to the DME bus and expect it to be transported.

Going back to the airport from disney is a different animal. If you're flying on a participating airline, you can check your bags at the Resort Airline Check in desk at your resort. They'll print your boarding passes for you, and check your luggage. You won't see your bags again until you land at your destination. You can then store your carry-on bags at Bell Services until you leave for the airport.

It shouldn't be a problem. Since you're staying at the BW, as long as your airline participates in DME, you'll be able to check in to your flight and check your baggage in. Then you can either take DME or whichever way you can to the airport. Your bags will be on the flight with you.

We did exactly that two years ago , where we checked our bags in at the WL and got our boarding passes. My sister in law then drove us to the airport. No problems at all.

Just to clarify: only certain airlines participate in RAC (Resort Airline Check-in) which is the service the original poster needs. DME (Disney's Magical Express), the person transportation, on the trip to the airport requires only that the passenger be staying at a WDW-owned resort and that the reservation didn't end before the day of the return ride.

Thanks everyone!

I am flying United which I know is a participating airline since I just used this service when I flew home from a cruise a couple weeks ago. I'm glad to hear that I can still use this service and have my own transportation to the airport. That will surely take a lot of stress out of a long day flying from coast to coast. :thumbsup2
