Has anyone used the new kind of luggage locks that require a special key (design on lock shows that it takes a certain key)and is approved to be used by all the airlines?I see them on QVC and even in Wal-Mart and since they always tell us at the airport to remove all locks or they will be cut off,but these are suppost to OK to keep on our luggage.I would like to know if anyone has used them without any problems at the airports. It would be my luck to spend the extra money (they cost alot more than the old kind)and they would still cut them off.I understand why the want to beable to get inside any luggage,I don't have a problem with that, but once its been checked (maybe even opened)I'd like to know if they locked it back or what?Since they state that the airlines approve of them,I would like to know if its really true.We fly out of a small airport and if I'd call them,I'd get alot of different answers,so if anyone has used them, how did them do?

We have used TSA approved locks on our last couple of trips with no problem. Maybe just lucky. On earlier trips we've had locks broken off even though they they were locked on only one tab (so the zippers were free). We should have just left them inside until the cruise, where you HAVE to leave your luggage locked. Then we began to use cable ties! That worked too but probably not as secure. We decided the new locks were worth taking a chance on. Good luck, whatever you decide!
