using Hilton HHonors points to redeem for WDW 4day PHP?

<font face="times" size="+0">has anyone ever used their Hilton HHonors points to redeem for a 4day PHP pass?

dbf called them to try to redeem points for a pass, and even though, on their website, they say that the PHP never expires... the woman at the redemption center told him that the Pass expires 1 year from date of issue.

so what's the real deal? the woman seemed really confused when we pressed the issue.

so, if anyone has first hand experience, could you please let me know if your pass did indeed expire 1 year from date of issue?

We did this last year, and at that time they sent us regular park hoppers. Be aware, though, that the process can take a while, since it goes through Hilton, to Disney, back to Hilton and then to you. We ended up having to postpone our trip by a month last spring because we had not received our passes. At the last minute, the offered to let us pick them up at the park, but we simply didn't trust that they would be there.

However, for free tickets, any hassle is worth it!

Oh Wow! I didn't know you could do this. How many points are they? We just redeemed a ton of them for some free hotel rooms for our drive to and from WDW.

I was trying to talk dh into cashing them in for universal tickets. Havent used any of ours yet and I think the current statement says we have !00,000. DH wants to use them at a hotel sometime.

<font face="times" size="+0">well, that's the thing. i know it takes forever to order these. we don't have definite dates for our next trip, so it's not a big deal.

<i>however</i>, the big thing is whether or not it's really true that the passes EXPIRE 1 year after date of issue!

we don't know for sure that we'll travel before next April, so we don't want to redeem the points if the PHPs really do expire.

i'm just mad because the Hilton HHonors website says that the passes NEVER expire (just like normal WDW Park Hoppers). but then the HHonors center people said there's an expiration.

100AcreMom, do you recall if the passes had any kind of expiration date on them?

were they real passes? or were they vouchers?

just a heads up to people considering doing this, apparently Hilton will renegotiate their Disney contract at the end of May. so the option to redeem points for park passes might not be around after if they decide to not renew their Disney contract.</font>

I redeemed points for a Universal pass - they sent a voucher which had an expiration date of only about 5 months after I ordered it. Then I exchanged the voucher at a ticket window at Universal - then I was issued a pass. I would "assume" (?) that if you also get a voucher, the voucher might have an expiration date but the pass you get from Disney would not.

Only redeem your points about 3-4 months before you intend to go.

Ours were the same hopper passes as you purchase at the parks. They were not vouchers, and they did not have any expiration dates on them.
