When mobile ordering was introduced, you could not use a GC. It was eventually added but initially, it was credit card or nothing.

As above, we won’t know for sure until Genie debuts, but I think (hope!) that it will be like mobile ordering. Your MDE account will default to whatever CC is linked to it, but you’ll be able to enter the number for a different CC or a GC. You can save those numbers as a note on your phone and easily copy and paste them into MDE when needed.

I am glad you asked this. I want to add it to my tickets, so I assume that I can use gift cards. But, you know what happens when you assume.

I used a gift card to pay for my family’s Genie+ on Tuesday.

I have used a gift card for Genie + and ILL every day so far. You can use Disney Rewards also.

Save the GC and Rewards card numbers in notes on your phone. Copy & paste them in the payment space. Works for Mobile Orders too.
