Suppose you get to your attraction and you find there is no wait. But you have a FP+! Do you get in standby or do you use your FP+?

I always get in standby. I don't want Disney knowing what I'm doing and when. These times are opportunities to use standby and fly below the radar.

Ride Standby and...
Use your MDE account and immediately CHANGE your FP to another time and/or attraction that may benefit by using a FP.

I assume that you're joking, but I could not care less if Disney knows what I'm "doing."

Like Robo said, I immediately go on MDE and change that FP to something else where it would be of use

I did in February on a rather slow day. At any rate, using that FP allowed me to get a fourth one.

You didn't need to book a "fourth" FP (at that time) as you could immediately change your current unneeded FP to another attraction and/or time.

However, if the park's FPs are "tiered," the immediate use of a third unneeded FP would enable the possibility of booking another "Tier 1" FP at that time.

Yes, we did part B.

I change the fast pass in MDE and use the standby. I have no issue having disney know what I do, that was they can use that information to better their processes and improve the system.

We used our FP for Figment last June, even though there were like 3 people in the standby "line". There were no other tier 2 that we wanted at Epcot.

I go into standby however I tend to keep the FP until after the ride just in case it's a ride I want to do again and there is a line when I get done, this does happen a lot, lol. If there is no line then I will ride standby again and change the FP.

It also depends on if the FP is #1, #2, or #3 of the day. If it is #1 or #2, then I will likely go standby and check DME to see if there is something else I want or if I would rather ride again using the FP.

If it is #3 or any number after, it depends on if I think I will want to ride twice or not. If I think I would want to ride it twice, then I do Standby and then FP right after. If it is a one and done ride, then I scan my MB and go the FP line and pick out my next FP as I walk to loading, which I do anytime starting with #3.

I do standby and depending on the ride may FP to ride again or immediately change it.

With that said Disney doesn't need you to use your FP+ to know where you are. They can just have you walk past a long range reader and figure out where you are as it'll pick up your individual Disney number. They may not know it is you exactly but they know you are guest XXXXXX and attached to file John Doe form No Where, USA.

I was going to type almost the exact same thing. Quoting you is easier!

We have once or twice used a FP on little mermaid ride only to cut down on the 18 mile queue. Last trip with the wheel chair, DH just rolled the 18 miles.

But generally, I'd go standby and then use the FP if we liked the ride.

Depends at which park. At EP or DHS I'm going to use it because I'm going to want to get to the 4th to maybe snag another tier 1. At MK or AK I probably would change it but that could change at AK with Pandora.
