This is my first post so please be kind!

In the process of planning 4th trip to Orlando & was curious about using the facilities at the Disney Hotels. We will be staying in a friend's villa & I'm planning to have meals, snacks or drinks at some of the on site hotels, will we also be able to use the swimmimg pools?

:confused3

Welcome.

You are able to eat/drink at the resort hotels but I think I'm correct saying you aren't allowed to use the pools. At any time they can ask to see you Key to the World Card (room key) and you obviously wouldn't have one.

Sorry.

Hi and welcome,

I think Gill is right, you are able to use the restaurants etc but not the pools.

Happy planning. :thumbsup2

Hope me and Gill have been 'kind enough' for you with our friendly responses....!!

Thanks for your quick replies. Looks like we'll have to cool off somewhere else!

We always rent a villa too, to be honest much prefer the privacy and freedom with your own pool.
Does your villa not have one?

Yes it does have a lovely pool.

I agree we love the freedom of having our own space. There will only be 4 of us in a 4 bed villa so we can spread out when we start to get on each others nerves!

Yes the villa we rent has it's own pool.

How did I manage to post that twice? My fingers seem to have a mind of their own tonight

That's ok - we have all done that, it can sometimes happen when there are slow connection issues etc

The official answer is, "No". However, I have known several people who have used the pool facilities without being a paying resort guest. It's not something I would be comfortable with myself, but it's certainly more than possible if you've got the nerve. The exception would possibly be Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club.

we have friends that were 'asked' to leave the Grand Floridian pool area. I would have died of embarrassment

Welcome :sunny:

you could always go to one of the water parks which is great fun
you can go in and look around any of the resorts but not use the pools and even if you are staying on site it is only the pools where you are staying that you can use

enjoy the planning

this is a great place to get any questios answered

When we are at the Polynesian last August the lifeguards were checking for resort IDs. We saw at least three families/groups being asked to leave. Like you say, it would be horribly embarrassing.
