Using extra credits for an infant?

DH and I have a trip booked for Feb with DxDDP. We decided to fly down on Fri night instead of Sat morning which will give us a whole extra night of credits to use.

We have a 1 yr old daughter, who obviously won't have any dining credits since she is an infant. At some of the meals, can we use some of our extra credits to order something for our daughter to eat at some of our table service meals (where you order off the menu)?

Even if she was on the DDP, you would not be allowed to use an adult credit for her. We ran into this during our trip this past Feb. My husband and I took our 3 y/o GS down there Feb 4th-11th and all of three of us were on the DxDDP. Due to canceling some breakfasts at the last minute when we didn't feel like going, we saw that we were going to have some credits left over at the end of the week. The last couple of days we asked if we could use an adult credit instead of a kid's credit for our GS, explaining that we were going to have credits left over. Every single time, we were told no, that our KTTW card said 2A and 1C, so that's all we could order. All three of us were on the DxDDP, but all we were allowed to order were two adult meals and one kids meal.

I guess it makes sense to not be able to use credits for someone not on the dining plan (although, I feel like an infant not eligible for the dining plan is a little different for some reason).

Actually it depends on your server.

Our last 2 trips we had DxDP, we had with us our twins, not quite 2, & then not quite 3. Sometimes we had to pay OOP for food ordered for them, sometimes not.

We would let the server know, before they did the final tally on the check, that since we were on DxDP and had the credits to burn, if we could use credits to pay for the twins' meal or meals, great, if not that was fine too. Often enough, they used credits so that none were wasted.

Sure, it would not be the most economical use of the plan, but we did not get DxDP to squeeze every last little bit of value from every credit. We liked the flexibility that the DxDP offered. Of course YMMV.

Not sure when your last trip was but servers checks are being audited for DP usage. If a server uses plan points for meals for guests that arent on the plan the server can and will be repremanded. If a server does push it through they are putting their job on the line

You can share your food with your DD, just not your credits.

The only thing you can do, is just eat more often, and grab a couple extra counter service meals in between table service meals that you can then share with your DD.

Counter service meals aren't the best use to credits as far as $$ is concerned, but it's an easy way to use up extra credits!
