Using DME When Accompanying Minors

Two of my children are leaving WDW a few days before the rest of us leave. Is DME an option for my husband to take the kids to the airport? Can he use DME to get back to the resort? He has no problem taking a cab to and from the airport. I just thought I'd check to see if DME was even a possibility? I'm wondering if using a cab would be the easiest choice?

I think this is handled on a case by case basis.

If he takes a cab to the airport with the kids, it would cost a lot less to take the Mears Shuttle back to Disney when done with the errand.

Or book DME for himself and the kids for the early departure. This needs to be done at least a day in advance of the early departure and a confirmation paper obtained.

Also quietly and naively try to book DME for himself and everyone else at the end of the stay giving Disney a chance to make a mistake and give him the second DME trip back. Perform this last attempt immediately after getting (or after not getting) the confirmation paper morning of the day before final checkout.
