We have built up $500 on rewards from the Disney Visa card (Premier) and will also have $200 OBC from OBB, and $100 OBC from travel agent, still 6 months to go!

My question is can I give the TA the Disney Rewards Card to prepay part of the cruise fare? I was planning to use the Reward $$$ as onboard spending, but don't think my wife and I could spend $1000 that way without going hog wild crazy...

Cheers, dittymau

I suppose it would ultimately depend upon how your TA handles payments, but I have used my rewards to pay towards the cruise fare. I am booked through Dreams Unlimited and I just provided them with the rewards card information and the amount I wanted paid from the card towards the cruise. They took care of applying the payment.

Since you are premier - you can use your points to pay for airfare ... that's what we do ... earn double points at Disney (instead of ZERO by using the rewards there).

How it works ...
Book your airplane tickets from anywhere to anywhere on any airline (you don't have to be going anywhere near Disney .... ie Missoula :D )
within 60 days of booking call Chase/Disney or go on line and apply your points to the airfare
NOTE: Your points can NOT be on a rewards card - they still have to be on your cc "statement"
Make your normal cc payment (in our case Pay In Full) because the points may take up to 2 billing cycles to go onto your account (so far the credit has shown up on the next (current) statement).

If you are going on DCL excursions you can --- well it also depends upon where you are going, how many stops and how much the excursions are (for two).

ie: Atlantis AquaVenture is $177 / person in Nassau
XPLOR park in Cozumel is $218 / person

then there are the Dolphin experiences .... big bucks there too.

I've been on many DCL cruises (10+) and still am surprised at how much we spend without even trying. That's Disney for you

Thanks, already had booked FF TIX on American, so that's all good...

You can call the rewards card number into your TA. You can also use your rewards to pay for tips. If you want the 6 months no interest on shipboard charges, you need to apply that amount to your account a minimum of a week before departure by calling DCL or sending in the form via fax.
