Using Disney Visa points at Resort

Has anyone used their Disney Visa points at the hotel? If so, how did it work? I'm thinking that I request my points to be put on a card and take it with me at check in. Then they will run the card and deduct that amount from my total. Is that pretty much it?? I'm wondering how much people have saved using their points??? We will knock about $450 off our stay!!

I just had some points transferred over for our December trip. I plan on using it to pay for some of our character meals. I feel like i have already paid for them, since we are going to be using points. Last year, we used to the points to get Pal Mickey, and a few things I wanted for me.

We used our Disney Rewards Card at WL in September. We ordered our card about a month in advance of our trip. I had earned some more points after I had ordered the card, so right before we left for WDW I called and had those points put on the card too. Then, on our last night there I took the card to the front desk and had them apply the rewards dollars to our bill. It was very simple.

I have about 35 points. I'm confused on how to redeem them. Do they just credit them to your card or do they send you cash?

I believe you call or go online and "redeem" them by having them put on some sort of "value card" or "gift card" type thing. Then it works like Disney dollars more or less.

To redeem your Disney points, easiest thing is to simply drop by guest services in Downtown Disney. Tell them you want to cash in your Disney Rewards points and give them your card. They'll give you back a Rewards card in an evelope just like those you get your credit cards in. They'll point you to a phone where you call a 1-888 number to activate the card.

You can then use the card like a credit card. The points (dollars) are deducted as you use them from the card. Be sure not to loose the card cause there is no signature or pin number required to use it. Anyone can pick it up and spend it if you drop it. The receipt you get after each use will tell your how many dollars you have remaining on it.

This is the way we redeemed our points last week.

You are right, you can call the number on your bill or go online. They will send you a rewards card that works like a gift card. It takes a week or two to get in the mail. I think this is much easier than going to Downtown Disney. You also can call back and have more points added to your card at the last minute if you've just paid your bill and earned more points right before your trip. The rewards card will expire in December of the year after you have transferred your points.

I had been looking at the online ordering of the card, but ended p calling. I think the very easiest is to so it online. You just go to Manage Rewards, then Order a Rewards Card, then ick how many points you want transferred and it will come in the mail. On the phone I had to go through a phone tree menu for a while before I got a person.

Make sure you keep the reward card you get from visa even after you use all the $$ on it. Apparantly the card stays active and you can just go online and transfer more $$ to the card as you earn them. Makes it quick and easy to use your $$. You don't even have to wait for the card in the mail then. Plus the card stays active so they will only send you a total of 2 active cards anyway. Then you would have to have one cancelled to get another issued.

I found it so easy to transfer reward dollars to the card and then use the card just like a credit card.....

You're able to pay for all 5 nights with your rewards??That's awesome! I thought we were doing good! Ours will pay for about 2 nights of 2 rooms, but I'll take it! When we first got the card, we put every other card aside until this trip. It's been a great deal!

You can also just call CRO, and tell them you want to pay part/all of your room balance with your Disney Rewards card. Tell them how much is on your rewards card, and give them the number on the card, and CRO will take care of it.

I've used it on several stays now, it's easy. The only place I've had a problem was last weekend at the F&W Festival, it wouldn't work in a lot of the stands

We paid for all the furniture and window treatments and housewares and everything else for the Florida house on it, plus we charge as much of the day to day stuff as we can, gas, groceries, utilities, etc., so we were able to rack up about 3000 points since we got it. Of course they're all gone now--it doesn't take long at WDW LOL!

My question is, my rewards card expires in December, how do I get a new one?

How did you get 3000 points on it? I thought they only allow 750 points per calendar year. I earned my limit back in June (we also built a new house and put everything on the card) and wouldn't you know it that is when they offered me double points! What a waste! I called to confirm about the limit and they said I was correct that I would not be receiving any more points for purchases. So I went over to another bank one card which will give me 1% cash with no limits and 3% for gas and certain other purchases with a limit. Its a good deal but I miss my red mickey card.

Don't know how, but I got them! Maybe a computer glitch? HAHAHA, I'm not complaining!

I am going to ditch the card though, seems that since CHase took over thigns are screwy, I make an online payment and it now takes 2-4 days to be credited, etc.

Just give them your rewards card and they will transfer the balace to your hotel bill as a credit.

When we got the info. about having friends and family get a Disney Visa and earn $50. from their 1st purchase, my mom got one and gave me those $50. dream rewards to use toward our trip!

We also just received a flier that gives us double our reward points for Oct. & Nov. as long as we spend $350. each month (like that's going to be a problem... ).

Every little bit helps-and pays for our trip that's only a month away!!!

We will be going to WDW (Ft W/AKL) this February, and so far, we have accumluated over 700 points! We should have over 1100 by Feb (BTW ~ my DH and I BOTH have separate cards!). You know what that means....with a $1349 resort bill, ALMOST a free stay at WDW!!
