Using Disney Gift Card to Pay for Dining Plan?

Last time I checked (October 2018 trip), I had to call in to DVC to pay for the dining plan with gift cards. Online it would only let me use a credit card.

I'm not sure about DVC, but for a regular hotel reservation, we added a dining plan separately from the initial reservation and were able to separately pay for it on the spot with a GC. We called Disney, though.

It's our own DVC points. I didn't see a space to pay with gift cards online so I wasn't sure.
