Using Disney Gift Card I bought from Kroger

I filled up at Kroger today to see if my gas savings was available yet. It was. So I think it's for the current & following month. So if I were to get 1000 points and use them in March and then another 1000 points in March and use those in April, I could do the same thing in April. Which with the quadruple Disney cards right now, that'd be $250.00 of gift cards for every $1.00 off per tank. If you had a package you were paying on, that'd be awesome.

As it is, I'm just buying tickets and they are cheaper on-line by $20.00 a piece than at the booth. So I've decided to use my rewards card on that and I'll just buy gift cards for food and souveniers, which for a family of 5 for 5 days, we could need a lot!

Plus, now that I know about this, I may start buying them earlier next year whenever there is the quadruple points to pay on a WDW room.

My question for you is can you use a gift card for the tip at the restaurants? I would like to buy a card to use at disney but we are on the dining plan so all we would need is tips.

If you're staying onsite, I believe you can put the tips on your KTTW card so it gets charged to your room. Then use the gift card to pay off your room charge whenever you get around to it. Just one less card to keep track of or get lost. That's my plan for our trip anyway.

I wanted to make sure you saw my note that the use of the points is not limited to once a month. I have been doing this for over a year and even with double fuel points on gift card purchases the points add up. I buy gift cards for any purchase I make. I fill my car up about every 10 days and use 1000 points every time.

So, what else do you use your gift cards on? I don't really drive too much (I live a mile from work ) so I only need about 3 fill ups per month. So I need 3000 points per month. So $750 if its quadruple points. For me personally, I don't spend $9000.00 per year on WDW . And we don't eat out that much. But I normally get 17 gallons in. So a $51 coupon every month for gas is very appealing, if I could pay bills or something with the $750.00 gc.

We fill up both cars at the same time. My car holds 16 gallons and my husbands holds 20. We take both cars to the pump he fills mine up first and then he fills his up on the same transaction. Works great!

I can use the Disney gift cards that I purchase at Kroger to pay for my room balance and tickets... correct?

Yes you can! You will probably need to put a credit card on file too but you just pay with the gift cards at check out. If you charge everything else (food, merchandise etc.) to your room then you can use those cards for all of that at one time.

We have used gift cards on almost anything and everything.

Paid for part of the room via gift card.
Paid for tickets via gift card.
Paid for ticket upgrade via gift card.
Paid for food (including tip at TS places) via gift card. Sometimes GC's can't be used at outdoor cart stands, depending on the stand.
Paid for merch at the hotels and parks via gift card.
Paid for merch online via gift card.

You cannot use Disney gc's at the Swalphin or any of its stores/restaurants. If it's Disney owned and operated, most likely a gc will work.

I'll never be able to coordinate that anyway, but is there a cap on how many gallons you can purchase at one fillup?
ETA: I looked it up - there's a cap of "36 gallons/vehicle/purchase." If only DH and I could meet at the station, that would be good.

The cap is actually 35 gallons(at least it is where I live). The pump shuts down at that point. We usually take both our cars but when we can't we bring our gas cans. We have two 6 gallon cans. We fill up the car and both the cans and then bring the cans home and store them in the garage until we use them to put gas in the other car. We bought the gas cans from walmart and they have more than paid for themselves.

The most common gift cards I purchase are, Target, Old Navy, Bestbuy, Amazon, Chilis, McDonalds and Subway. You would not be able to purchase gift cards to pay bills.
