using corporate codes

I found a corporate code on one of the websites someone had listed here and entered it and saved over 100.00 for mini van rental at thrifty. My question is when I get there to pick up the van, will they ask me for some kind of proof of where that corporate code came from? I'm just kind of scared to book it. I was really wanting a toyota sienna but it says dodge caravan, but for 100.00 savings, sounds good. We usually drive our car but are taking some family and need to rent a van so I don't have any experience on rentals. Thanks for any help.

They certainly may, though your mileage may vary. (Pun intended).

If your rate includes any insurance, though, be absolutely sure that you have separate primary insurance coverage that includes loss of use. If you get in an accident, but don't qualify for the insurance waiver, you can bet it won't be honored. In particular, most credit card coverages *will not* apply, because they require you to *waive* any rental car coverage to be in effect.

Likewise, if the rate includes a second driver, you still should not let anyone else drive the car, as that can get you into hot water later too.

Finally, if you want to try to stick to codes you know you'll qualify for, Mary Waring keeps track of most of them over at MouseSavers:

Some people have been able to use corporate codes, which they are not truly entitled to use, with no problem. BUT..others have reported having to show proof of eligibility before renting the car. While I understand wanting to save money, do you really want to worry about it the entire time, and then be asked to show proof, but be unable to?? If they ask you for proof, and you can't give it to them, they are completely within their rights to charge you the regular, non-discounted rate.

If you are speaking of the Orlando Magic Card code all you need to do is print the orlando magic card from the Orlando CVB website.

yeah, i really don't want to have to worry about it, that's why i didn't book it, although to be honest since i have never rented i wasn't real sure what all these code meant, i just noticed that the website now has dollar with a weekly rental of 227 so think i'll just rent there. someone posted this site and it looks like there are alot of good deals...carrentalsavers.com
