Using Chat Feature for Requests

I have heard that you can make room requests using the chat feature for the website. Is this true and, if so, how successful have you been with it? I know requests are exactly that, but do they truly seem to log this information on your reservation?
 
I was able to use the chat feature last week. He could see my request listed for one resort and added the request for my second.

Assuming this actually works (something that isn’t always a given even if you have someone on the phone), this seems like a nice alternative to waiting on hold for 90 minutes just to submit a room request, right?

Totally! I was on hold for about an hour to cancel an extra reservation (the cancel button was not active) and forgot about my requests. They really need an updated recording of that hold music!
I tried the chat and after he told me he could help asked him to first double check my poly request was there. He said he could see it. I hope it worked lol!

Just remember, though... Even if you don’t get your request doesn’t mean he didn’t put it in there. Requests are just that. No guarantee of getting them no matter how you make them.

Yup I know they’re just requests. I’m not too worried about them. I’m happy if I get them and still ok if I don’t. I’ve always liked my rooms at Poly and BWI regardless of the view.

That’s so weird that some can’t and others can. I wonder if some don’t realize they can access those systems. It’s strange.
 
When staying onsite we tried to use the chat and there was always a crazy long delay for someone to come on. We tried to use it to get extra towels for our room. Only once did someone come on in a reasonable time period but the towels came quickly. The other times I picked up the room phone and got someone immediately to bring whatever we needed. It seems like chat is about as slow as calling from home with no guarantee you will get what you need (in our experience anyway).
 
I have found the chat to be pretty useless. Seems like every time I use it the answer I get is "you need to call"
LOL. I don't understand why businesses have chat feature if you can't really do anything with it. The company I have my loan with sent me an email and told me to contact them via chat, and then when I did, all I got from the chat was "you need to call us."
 
Just adding that I also tried to use the chat feature to make a request, less than five minutes ago, and was told that I had to call. She specifically stated that they did not have access to the reservation system. That seemed very odd to me.
