Using a TS credit for a CS meal?

Can you use a table service credit for a counter service meal? If you do, do you get an extra snack credit?

I did this two years ago and I was wondering if it still works the same way. Sometimes you just want a quick meal and not wait for a table at the full service restaurant.

This has been offered during free dining in the past but it is not standard practice. There hasn't been any announcement from Disney regarding doing this in 2008.

It's apparently possible to have a manager at your resort convert a TS credit to a CS but you won't get a snack also if you go that route.

Have not heard anything as of yet that they will give you more than the entitlement... we were there in Jan. and we couldn't get into a T.S. so we went over to Coronado for q.s..... They did not give us anything extra

we had 4 TS credits left and I asked the cashier at the Mara if I could use them as CS credits and she said no problem. We also had 11 S credits left so I didn't worry about the extra S on top of that.

I e-mailed disney a few months ago to ask whether TS credits can be used as CS credits. I can't find the e-mail, but the long and short of it is that Disney's official position is that using TS credits for CS meals is not allowed.

However, what happens in practice seems to be different.

We have friends that the last two years did not use all their TS and used them as CS at the ASMovies Resort. I was also getting breakfast at the CBR this year while DD was on a Pirate Cruise and the guy in front of me was doing the same thing. I guess like everything else it may depend on the CM but I really don't understand why Disney would not allow this it seems like it would be to their advantage.

I can't see how they would not allow you to use 1 t.s. meal for 1 c.s....

1. More $ in Disneys pocket if you use a c.s. instead.
2. Sometimes getting adrs is tough... its not like you can just walk into a t.s. restaurant anymore:confused

But it's even MORE money in Disney's pocket if credits go entirely unused. No, they're not being evil or greedy - it's just not unreasonable that the Dining Plan would have been created and sold with the expectation that while some Guests will spend hours planning so they (okay, we ;)) can get the absolute BEST value out of each credit, others will end their vacations without using all their credits.

My thoughts exactly! We are leaving in a month and I still have one TS to book so I was thinking I would just use it as CS if I couldn't book anywhere. Oh well...I'll be spending the next month on the phone trying to get in somewhere! I don't want it to go to waste!

I must admit, I was really dumbfounded when I got the reply from Disney. I think I read it at least five times to make sure that my eyes/ brain were playing tricks on me.

As previous posters observed, Disney should surely come out ahead if a guest uses TS credits in the place of CS credits. Maybe they're trying to keep things simple??

Maybe you could leave that TS for now and ask a question when you get to Disney, especially since the practice seems to be different from the position outlined to me in the e-mail from Disney (unless of course it was a clueless newbie who sent me the e-mail in the first place!)
