Using a SWA airline credit question..

So, I have 1200 worth of credits that need to be used by 12/6. Places I really want to go are a lot cheaper than that, so...out of curiosity, can I use, say $800 on airfare and use the other $400 towards hotel or rental car if I book it through Southwest Vacations?

Wasn't sure if the credits can be used on anything that SWA offers, or if it is strictly airfare, etc.

Strictly airfare and can only be used by the original ticketholder. Once it expires, you can pay for a 6 month extension for $100 I believe. And anyone can use it.

Thanks! It's broken up between the 4 of us in the family, so I think I would need to then pay $400 to extend it...and the reports have not been great than this is even still being allowed. I will just keep watching the prices. We are currently booked going to Albuquerque for 4 days. I have always been interested in going to the southwest, but I feel like 4 days isn't enough to do it justice...so I keep going back to if I should change it...
