Using a seperately purchased Magic Band

I am considering purchasing a magic band from shop Disney!, and using that one instead of the one Disney sends me for our Nov. trip.
Can anyone explain how I activate the one I purchase? Do I need to somehow deactivate the one Disney sends me, or can I have all of this done at the front desk during checkin?

You can add it to your MDE account online (Go to My Magicbands, then Link down at the bottom). No need to deactivate the other one, you can use both.

You can have 10 (or more!) different Magic Bands attached to your account. They'll all work interchangeably, even from one minute to the next. Because there's nothing "on" the band. It just acts as a key to your MDE account.

Magic bands are interchangeable so no need to deactivate the complimentary one from Disney.
As for the one you purchase all you need to do is link it to your MDE using the code on the back of it.
Super easy to do yourself.

You'll get an AP magic band after your first trip if you go in and customize it in MDE.

It's super easy! I bought the birthday one and just added it in MDE!!!

You just enter the number on the back of the MB into your MDE profile. You can have a lot of MB active at once, feel free to use them interchangeably as you wish.
