I got gifted this old clock. I have no clue on the year but by the design I would say 70s or eariler. Its a plug in wall clock and is ul listed. I am wondering is it safe still use it after all these years? I guess I have a fear of using older plug in things for the fear of fire. (dont laugh, I am terrified of fire). The back says Melody S13-AD Westclok model 25339

Good lord. The 70's isn't that old. :rotfl: If it was pre-UL listed times, like with a cloth cord, then I might be worried.

If the cord is intact, with no wearing of the plastic coating, its fine.

Most of us are older than that clock. :rotfl2:

thank! I just needed to be reassured it was safe to use. I guess this means the radio is safe too. my fear comes from the fire started by a old record player (that came from the same person) many years ago.

:rotfl: I was married in the 70's and still have a lot of things from then that plug in.
I'm not worried.

I have an electric clock that is from the 20's that I still use and it is just fine. Many of us have appliances from the 70's that we use on a regular basis and they are just fine .
