Using a Hopper pass to renew an Annual Pass

I'm hoping someone can help me with this, I'm sorry if this is a bit long winded. I'm an AP holder and usually renew in May, I'm planning a trip next May and because I'm in the UK I can get a free breakfast or upgrade to a QSDP for £24 a day, which is approximately $30 when I book to stay at a value resort. A bit of a no brainer really. However, does anyone know if I can get this by having an AP and calling Disney or would I need to buy a 14 day park hopper and then use that towards renewing my AP? As an AP holder I've not had to buy a park hopper since the introduction of magic bands, so does that automatically get put on your magic band or can you ask for an old fashioned ticket instead. I've googled and can't find a definitive answer, so all advice will be welcome TIA x

1. I don't know.
2. If the perk you want requires a "minimum ticket" you might have to do that.
3. Yes. (Well, not ON your MB. Nothing is ON your MB. But, the ticket will be in your MDE account, which is ACCESSED via your MB.)
4. You can do that, but there's no reason to do so, as the ticket will ALSO still be in your MDE account.
But, it doesn't matter if the ticket is in your MDE account, as you can still use it to help renew your AP.

UK specials and packages are different than the ones available in the US so you will probably get better answers about the upgrade requirements on the UK planning board or contact Disney UK or the travel planner with whom you are booking the trip. Here's the link to the UK planning board:
