Has anyone traveled on two different airlines, with 2 one way tickets? Let's say United for your outbound flight and JetBlue for your return flight. Have you ever had any trouble doing this type of itinerary when checking in and going through security.

Thanks

You may be subjected to extra screening so just allow some extra time to get through security. It's no big deal.

I have last November, Itook jetblue going to mco/wdw, adn delta returning, there was nothing different than have a round trip on the same airline. hope this was helpful.

this year Nov I'm round trip with SW and I was looking to do the same thing for my return in Nov because of the airline check in at the resorts. I wish they would do the bag check in at the resorts for SW.

We're doing it this year. Delta on the way down and Jet Blue on the way back. I don't see why we should have any problems. Unless of course Delta knocks out our flight again and we have to change everything for the second the time.

I did the same thing for some friends. They flew Airtran down and Sun Country back. They had no problems and were not subjected to any extra security... though some have said that flying on a one way ticket "could" red flag you for extra screening.

Thanks everyone,

I discovered this morning if I fly 2 different airlines I could save $30 per person. I'm really considering it, this will be a first for me, I usually do RT tickets on the same airline.

We're booked on Airtran and SWA for our upcoming trip - I don't anticipate any sort of problem at all.

In August, we flew to Virginia on Jetblue, and flew home on United. In November, we're flying into Tampa on Southwest, and flying home out of Orlando on Delta. No difference than flying roundtrip. No problems at all. pirate:

we are considering a different airline for our return trip so we can select our seats and not have to worry about getting the boarding passes at the 24 hr mark
