Going to Manhattan tomorrow to see Mary Poppins. ...The show that is..not her personally.

Saw on the news that the Christmas tree was brought into Rockerfeller Center today. They light that baby up Dec. 3rd. Oh..and I guess it's beginning to look alot like Christmas when you see camels walking down the street in Manhattan. The Radio City show is in full swing now too!

Sounds like a lotta fun.

The tree at Epcot was up yesterday and we're stuck in Atlanta! Bad weather and the plane almost got hit by lightening! First time I ever saw that (and heard it!)

You have a great time..and relax, your flight will be fine. Believe me..this is from someone who is afraid of heights. Then again, I don't choose a window seat either! I'm not that brave. I simply refuse acknowledge that I'm not on the ground any longer. I figure if I don't see it..it won't hurt me.
My kids say I'm in denial and need to face my fear. I say denial works just fine for me. If it ain't broke..don't fix it!
Besides, I have this trusty magic wand ...what else could you need?

My 3 year old just got her sequential bilateral cochlear implant activated on November 7th. We went to meeting at Children's hospital of Philadelphia, where she had her surgery and goes for therapy, and learned some interesting info. There are approximately 150,000 children and adults who have cochlear implants to help them hear, only 2-3% of people with cochlear implants have two and CHOP has bilaterally implanted 30 kids since 2005. I just thought it was interesting information. I thought there were a lot more people with CIs. I guess that could be why people ask if my three year old is using a bluetooth device. Oh well, that is my pointless info for the day. Thank you for letting me share.

That is interesting..and how is she doing..with the implants I mean?...

She received her first implant in April of 2007, when she was 17 months old. She developed language skills so well and so quickly that according to our county's early intervention program she would not qualify for speech therapy services. She has already caught up to her hearing peers. She does qualify because she is deaf. Also, our insurance company is paying for articulation only not language development. Ibuprofen is my new friend until I can get to the podiatrist to get cortizone shots in my feet. It doesn't take all the pain away, but certainly eases the "OUCH" factor!!
