Another question.....we are staying at the WL / CR / YC / AKL.....do they all come with make-up mirrors? We leave friday and I can't for the life of me put on make-up w/o one! Old age or should I say old eyes have set in! If not I have to pack one with me. Thanks~~~

Has anyone done both the Discovery Wildlife Excursion and the AKL Sunrise Safari?

What is the difference in the safari part (I know only Sunrise offers breakfast) or is the safari part the same for the 2 tours?

Would you recommend doing both on different days of the same AKL CL stay?

I was thinking of doing both the Discovery Wildlife and the Sunrise with my daughters (ages 5 & 11) and then just myself on the Wanyama Sunset Safari. Does Simba's Cubhouse open early for kids whose parents are going on the Wanyama?

Yes

I have not done the Wildlife Excursion but have done the Sunrise a couple of times and it is AWESOME. You and your daughters will love it.
Wanyama is great too. You are in for a treat. Jiko is divine (or it used to be!! - chefs have changed a bit over the past few years and I have not been there in about 11 months)

Which concierge are you staying at?
You can let them do it and also do it yourself for double protection. Just use a different phone number for the 2 . You can then cancel any duplicates.

We are staying at the BC CL for the first three nights, and then switching over to the Poly CL for 4. I hadn't really thought about doing this......I think I'll have my TA make most of them....I had heard that the IPO puts your requests into the computer, so for something like CRT, there is an advantage over calling......anyone know if this is true?

The safari is the same for both. The Sunrise Safari takes place before the park opens and has a wonderful buffet breakfast. The DWE takes place during park hours. If I were you, I would only reserve the Sunrise Safari.

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with their IPO not making the ressies at 180 days out. We are going New Year's time frame, so it's essential requests are made right then. Our TA will do this for us as well - do you think it's better to go through concierge or my TA?

We are staying at the WL. Our IPO called,then emailed, and we were able to make our ADRs 190 days from each date. I had all our ADRs back before we were even 180 days out! Good luck.

That's a lot of safari's going on. I've done all three. My favorite by far is Sunrise Safari and it's definitely kid friendly.

The DAK Wildlife excursion can be done during any other concierge level stay so don't feel pressured to squeeze that in. It happens while the Kilamajaro ride is running during park hours. You'll just be going a little slower with pull offs. No meal is associated with that one.

Wanyama (AKA Sunset Safari) is truly an enjoyable treat for adults. Though I loved the experience and dining at Jiko's I still gravitate to Sunrise safari. Would I do both in one visit? I probably would if time is not an issue.

For the kiddos, get up a little early and do Sunrise safari. You won't be disappointed at all. Promise!

I'm also having trouble with IPO responding. It's frustrating because one of the reasons I stay CL is this service. I was initially getting prompt rsponses to requests made via email, but lately I've just received the canned response email that states that someone from IPO will respond within 24 hrs, which hasn't happened

I have had a wonderful experience so far with the IPO at the GF. My first email was from Calvin and so from now on I address all of my emails to him and he emails me right back.

We are letting the GF make our ressies over Xmas. I think they may have a little bit more pull...maybe not but I want to make sure I get what I want so I have already sent the stuff over. They stated they already had everything in the computer and would email me back with the confirmation numbers as soon as the ressies are able to be made.

I will check in with them again before ADR time.

It is just frustrating to be paying for a level of service and then feel like you have to either remind IPO to take care of things you've already asked them to do or do them yourself.

Do the Club floors usually have any AP rates?

Yes, I got a AP rate at the AKL last week for check-in today.

I was checking the AP website to see what else was out there and was shocked that a CL room was available. The rate was $279/night, so I quickly called and changed my reservation from ASMu/WL.

It's a last minute birthday trip that with planning, keeps getting better. It's my first time in a CL room and I'm very excited to try it at my favourite resort. It's time to finish packing, we leave to the airport in a bit.

I have just upgraded my stay on the 3rd to 10th July at AKL from savannah viet to CL . I have stayed and AKL twice before and loved it but this will be my first time at club level. so I have a couple of questions.

I booked my stay directly with Disney UK originally for a savannah view room but decided to treat us and called on Wednesday to request an upgrade to Club Level. Disney called today to say that my upgrade request had been successful but as I was out they left a message on my answer phone saying i had been upgraded to club level catagory Q G. Does anyone have any idea what Q G catagory is? Also can anyone tell me if all club level rooms have a sunset savannah view? The cast member I spoke to on Wednesday when making my request did not seem to think so but Iam sure I have read some where on the DIS that all Club Level rooms (even standard rooms) have a savannah view.

I would really appreciate any help you guys could give as you all seem to be very knowledgeable.

If you're a regular hotel guest (not Disney Vacation Club program),
(and it sounds like you are) then yes, you'll be guaranteed a savanna view.
All standard Club level rooms at AKL are savanna view.

Is it true? I was just looking at the Luxury Guide online and she says that all the concierge rooms at WL have standing room balconies. We were upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite . Is it true for that also?

We were in one of the WL honeymoon suites in Jan. Our balcony had 2 chairs. I can't tell you if that is true for all four of them. Ours was one of the two that had lousy views so we didn't really sit out on the balcony much.
